There are a number of worthy contenders, but only one game will be inducted into the 2017 Video Game Hall of Fame, and members of Paddy Power can bet on the results!
On May 4th, the 2017 Video Game Hall of Fame will take place. A game considered to have had an impact on the world will be inducted, and gaming fans around the world are having a tough time picking the most deserving.
Now, Paddy Power is allowing their members to bet on the winner. Most online sportsbooks in the UK list Donkey Kong as the betting favorite. First released in 1981, this arcade game sold over 132,000 units, and introduced the world to Mario, a character who would later become one of the most recognizable in the world of video games. At the moment, Donkey Kong’s odds to be inducted are set at 2/9.
You could argue that Pokemon Red and Green created the phenomenon that Pokemon is today. Launched in 1996, these games sold over 260 million copies and helped to sell more than 21.5 billion trading cards. This game’s odds to be inducted are set at 2/9 Final Fantasy VII is another great betting option, as it brought the already popular Final Fantasy franchise to new heights with improved graphics and an in-depth storyline, and have odds of 4/11, according to Paddy Power.

Halo: Combat Evolved was one of the key reasons for the Xbox system’s success. It sold more than 6 million copies worldwide and changed the world of first-person shooters forever. This game has odds of 3/1 to enter into the 2017 Video Game Hall of Fame.
The game with the lowest odds is Myst, at 5/1. This CD-Rom game was somewhat of an innovator in terms of RPG’s, but was sometimes criticized for its slow loading time.
