States in the country have just approved a new federal gambling treaty in Germany, helping to open up the country’s online gambling industry.

Recently however, German gambling news has come out that the individual states have approved a new gambling treaty.

The new bill is scheduled to take effect on January 1st 2018, though each individual state legislature must first ratify it. A number of politicians in the country have stated their opinion that the bill is unlikely to be implemented, while others feel it will.
The German Sports Betting Association has called the bill as “a step in the right direction,” but feel it’s still too restrictive for German gamblers.
