Pennsylvania Gambling Revenue Sets New Record in 2016

Reports are beginning to surface that the Pennsylvania gambling revenue from casinos reached an all-time high in 2016.

Casinos in Pennsylvania have plenty of reason to celebrate, as US gambling news broke this week that their revenue reached an all-time high last year. Combined revenue from casino table games and slot machines reached $3.21 billion in 2016, the most in their history.

The Pennsylvania gambling revenue has hit more than $3 billion 6 years in a row, after table games were legalized here in 2010. Land-based slot revenue dipped in 2016 to $853 million. Richard McGarvey, a gaming board spokesman, stated “Tables really were the driver. Tables continue to expand. Slots revenue the last couple of years has been flat to slightly down. Tables are clearly still expanding. More people are playing them.”
