Bill Moyes, the New Chair of the UK Gambling Commission

Karen Bradley, Secretary of State for Culture, has appointed Bill Moyes as the new chairman of the UK Gambling Commission for five years.
The Government of the United Kingdom has announced the appointment of Bill Moyes as the Chair of the UK Gambling Commission, a post which is remunerated at £55,000 annually. Moyes is replacing Philip Graf, who was appointed to the role in 2011. According to the Department for Culture , Media & Sport, Moyes has previously worked in the British Retail Consortium, the Legal Services Board, the Priority Hospital Group and the Office of Fair Trading.
Moyes, who completed a PhD in theoretical chemistry, kicked off his career in the UK Civil Service, where he held policy-making roles for 20 years. On top of his upcoming five-year term as the Chair of the UK Gambling Commission, he also chairs the General Dental Council. Moyes’ “wealth of experience across the public, private and voluntary sectors, […] will serve him well at the Gambling Commission,” said Karen Bradley, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.
The Gambling Commission is the regulatory body for casinos, bingo clubs, gaming machines, and casino websites UK.
