The future of Larry Flint’s casinos in Gardena City is unsure, as the publisher refuses to pay monthly USD 800,000 for tax breaks.
Last week, the Gardena City Council has voted to provide tax breaks for Larry Flint’s Casinos in exchange for monthly USD 800,000. The publishing mogul, who was planning to spend more than USD 60 million on renovation, has refused the offer and threatened to close both of his casinos in the city and also to sell the licenses.
According to a Flynt Management Group spokesman, Flynt’s has no issue with the amount, but the monthly guarantee. Flynt has also threatened to campaign against Gardena City Council members, so the Council scheduled a new meeting to revise their offer.
