Spectrum Gaming Group will lead a study of the Washington gambling market to help the State Gambling Commission prepare possible policy changes.

The first ever economic study of the Washington gambling market is on its way, announced the State Gambling Commission. The Legislature and Commission has selected Spectrum Gaming Group to conduct the study, which could prepare them for industry changes and the necessary policies to adapt to those.

“The results of this study will be a powerful economic tool for the state and tribes,” said Commission Chair, Chris Stearns. Washington is home to 50 casinos and card rooms, most of them on Native American land. The study is excepted to “help the state, businesses, tribes, and citizens guide economic growth with investment and with our values.”

What’s next for the Washington gambling market?

Established in 1993, Spectrum Gaming Group is an independent research firm serving both public- and private-sector clients. According to US gambling news, the company performed similar gambling related engagements in West Virginia, New Jersey, Delaware, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Their clientele includes 36 US states and territories and 45 countries.

“Understanding the impacts of gambling is a critical measure for any state that wants to ensure an effective gaming policy,” said Michael Pollock, Managing Director of Spectrum Gaming Group, implying that Washington gambling laws and regulations might change, based on the study’s results.
