Let's recall all the Red Bull highlights in Formula 1
Red Bull Racing, once known as Stewart Grand Prix in the 1990s and Jaguar F1 in the early 2000s, is one of the greatest F1 teams ever. They are currently at the top of the world after taking the last three Drivers’ titles and two Constructors’ championships. The team entered 2024 as absolute favourites with a plethora of great moments, and here are some of the most memorable Red Bull highlights in F1 ever. Acquisition of Jaguar F1 by Red Bull
Jaguar entered Formula 1 in 2000, dreaming of becoming the “British Ferrari” to dominate the sport. In five seasons, their best result was two 3rd places in Monaco 2001 and Italy 2002. 2003 was a more consistent season, with Mark Webber constantly taking 6th place. 2004 was the worst, and the team was sold. Red Bull knew they had to start with experience, so they hired David Coulthard to lead the team. In their first race, Red Bull took a sensational 4th and 7th, launching an excellent start to their further success.
Red Bull highlights in F1: First win
In 2009, Sebastian Vettel achieved the team’s first-ever victory in China’s Shanghai. In difficult heavy rain conditions, Vettel managed the race comfortably. Even better was that Mark Webber took 2nd and completed the 1-2 finish. The season was a general breakthrough that became a precursor for Red Bull’s dominating odds at online sportsbooks in the UK.
First Constructors’ and Drivers’ titles
Red Bull and Vettel dominated the Formula 1 scene during the early 2010s, securing four consecutive Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships. Vettel’s incredible performances and the team’s technical excellence made them a dominant force. In 2010, Vettel should have won with a couple of races at hand, but due to several mechanical DNFs and driving incidents, including the infamous Turkey 2010 and Belgium 2010, many points were dropped. It all kicked at the last two races, when Vettel took two victories in a row in Brazil and UAE and, courtesy of Ferrari’s tactical blunder, took the first title.
Verstappen’s triumph is among Red Bull highlights in F1
Max Verstappen, the current Bet365 leader to win F1 in 2024, made history by becoming the youngest race winner in Formula 1 at the age of just 18 years and 228 days.
He achieved this feat in his debut race for Red Bull Racing at the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix. What is more remarkable is that the debut happened after a replacement that occurred after the Russian Grand Prix, when Daniil Kvyat and Verstappen switched seats on Helmut Marko’s orders.
Red Bull highlights in F1: one of the best seasons in history
2021 was a highly competitive season, probably one of the best seasons in history. Verstappen had an intense battle throughout the entire season with Lewis Hamilton of the Mercedes AMG Team for the World Championship title. Controversial moments had already started to appear at the first race when Verstappen brought Hamilton off the track, while Hamilton had been going off track in the same turnover twenty times. At Silverstone, the contenders collided, and Verstappen, who was going away with the lead in the Standings, was sent into the wall by Hamilton and had a 23G impact. Hamilton then celebrated his victory with a British flag. In Italy, the contenders took each other off. In Brazil, they had an intense battle for a couple of laps; in Saudi Arabia, they collided again.
The winner was determined in the final race of the season. Verstappen emerged victorious on the final lap at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after overtaking Hamilton, who did not pit for fresher tyres. The 2021 season is remembered as one of the most tense events to bet on at online gambling sites in the UK to this day.
First ever 1-2 in the Standings
What Red Bull couldn’t achieve is a 1-2 in Drivers’ Standings. In almost twenty seasons, their best results were 1st and 3rd, and finally, in 2023, courtesy of RB19, Max Verstappen, and Sergio Perez, the team took its first-ever 1-2 and achieved its best result in history. RB19, built by Adrian Newey, Red Bull’s technical wizard, was one of the most dominant racing cars in F1 ever.
