This is the 77th season of the National Basketball Association, aka NBA, which started a week ago, on the 18th of October. The regular season will last until the 9th of April next year, while the playoff is held between April and May. The finals are scheduled to take place in June, but there is no exact date for that yet. The Golden State Warriors are the defending champions after they defeated the Boston Celtics 4-2 in last season’s finals. It was the club’s fourth title in the last eight years, signaling the power of the franchise. So, it’s not surprising that they are among the top favorites again along with the Celtics and the Clippers.

Boston Celtics Can Win the Title According to the 2022/23 NBA Season Preview

The Boston Celtics had a good start to the season after winning three out of four games. They won against Philadelphia, the Miami Heat, and the Orlando Magic. But they lost against the Chicago Bulls in their last game. Still, not a bad performance from the team which lost their coach, Ime Udoka after he was suspended. The league’s youngest coach, 34-year-old Joe Mazzulla replaced him on the bench who only has two years of head-coach experience.

So, we are still to see how he can fulfill this role. In the good news, the team managed to sign Malcolm Brogdon who can be a great addition to the team’s offense. In spite of all their troubles, online sportsbooks in the US mention Celtics as the top favorite. And offer the odds of +575.00 for their championship title in their 2022/23 NBA season preview.

But the defending champions, the Golden State Warriors follow them closely with odds of +600.00. The team has been dominant in the last few years and won its fourth title since 2015. But their performance on the first week hasn’t been flawless after winning only two out of three games.

Head coach Steve Kerr couldn’t rest his older players as much as he wanted after younger players didn’t play that well. Their roster, of course, is still very strong with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson. It is a question though if the younger players like Jonathan Kuminga and James Wiseman can play on the same level as their veteran teammates during the season.

Fans in Los Angeles Hoping for Better Results

The Los Angeles Clippers have been mentioned among the top favorites as well but they didn’t have the best start either. They were beaten by the Phoenix Suns in their last game, which moved them to 7th place in the Western Conference. Even though Kawhi Leonard is back on the team following his long absence, his and John Wall’s great performance wasn’t enough to lead the team to victory. The Clippers didn’t even reach the playoff last season but should do much better now. Their odds to win their first championship title are +700. 00 at the moment.

A huge improvement is needed from their local rival, the Los Angeles Lakers after they lost all of their three games so far. The team is last but one in the conference table, following their defeats against the Warriors, the Clippers, and the Portland Trail Blazers. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are still on their roster but they can’t win games alone. The team has very poor shooting statistics, especially Russell Westbrook who might be traded soon. The new coach, Darvin Ham has to find some solution, or the team won’t even reach the playoff this season.

Teams with a Great Start

Now let’s see, which teams have started the season well. And what are their current chances of winning the championship. One of them is the Milwaukee Bucks, the runners-up in the 2020/21 season. Led by the Greek Freak, aka Giannis Antetokounmpo, the team won their first two games against Philadelphia and Houston. With Giannis scoring 44 points in the latter. Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton are also great players, making the Bucks a strong contender for the title again. Online gambling sites in the US offer odds of +750.00 for their third victory after 1971 and 2021.

The Western Conference is led by the Portland Trail Blazers, who can be the surprise team of the season. They won all of their four games so far. And defeated teams like the Phoenix Suns and the Denver Nuggets. Jerami Grant joined his Olympic teammate, Damian Lillard this season and can be a key player.

Just like 22-year-old Nassir Little who can join the starting five with a good performance. They are not favored to win the championship with an odds of +8000.00. But they can reach the playoff. Just like the Memphis Grizzlies who won three out of their first four games. Thanks to Ja Morant and Desmond Bane, the team won its division last season and reached the conference semi-finals. Now they can go even further and win their first NBA title. Their odds to do so are +2200.00 on BetOnline.
