The 2022 American Music Awards will be held on the 20th of November at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The nominees have been already announced in all categories, so it’s time to check the biggest favorites. One of the main categories, the 2022 AMA Artist of the Year winner odds expect Taylor Swift to get the award for the 7th time. But Harry Styles and Bad Bunny can also win the category which includes 7 nominees this year.
This will be the 50th edition of the American Music Awards, so even bigger celebrations and more stars are expected at the ceremony. Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican rapper, and singer received the most nominations with 8, including his first nomination in the Artist of the Year category.
He is followed by Beyonce, Drake, and Taylor Swift who all received six nominations. Swift won the most awards so far with 33, including six wins in the Artist of the Year category. She can win her next one now even though her fans might face fierce competition from One Direction and Harry Styles fans. Since 2006 all winners are determined by the public and fans, who can vote for their favorites on Twitter now.
Swift Leads In the 2022 AMA Artist of the Year Winner Odds
Taylor Swift got the most nominations (8) in the Artist of the Year category. What is even more impressive is that she has already won it on six occasions. One exception happened last year when BTS took the award. But now she is the top favorite again on online sportsbooks in Canada with an odds of 1.60. One of the best-selling musicians of all time re-recorded two of her previous albums, “Fearless” and “Red” last year.
The last track from the second album, “All Too Well”, became the longest song to top the Hot 100 chart. Swift also directed a short film for the song and featured in four more singles. Along with making other hundred things. Just like we are used to from her.
But Taylor Swift wasn’t the only busy person this year. The former One Direction member, Harry Styles released his third album, “Harry’s House” which debuted at the top of both the UK and US album charts. Just like its first single, “As It Was”, which topped the singles chart in both countries. Styles also appeared in several films with less good reviews. But his success in music is indisputable.
The 28-year-old British singer has already won the Album of the Year Award at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. But he was beaten in the Artist of the Year category by Bad Bunny. As a member of One Direction, Styles has already beaten Swift in the category. Now his odds to do it again are 3.74 in the 2022 AMA Artist of the Year winner odds.
Bad Bunny, Beyonce, and Adele are also in the category
There are two amazing female singers in the category, Beyonce and Adele. But interestingly a rapper, Bad Bunny has a better chance of winning according to the bookmakers. The singer and rapper released his fourth album, “Un Verano Sin Ti” which debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
It stayed there for 13 weeks and helped to promote his world tour on the American continent. His popularity is shown by the fact that his tour became the highest-grossing tour by a Latin artist. His odds to win the Artist of the Year category are 4.50.
Online gambling sites in Canada offer worse odds (8.50) for the victory of the global music icon, Beyonce. Even though she released her much-awaited new album, “Renaissance” this summer. It debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart and received universal acclaim. But compared to the other nominees, it might have been released too late to win her this award. That Beyonce has never won before.
Another diva, Adele also released her new album after a few-year break last November. “30” also reached the number one spot in the UK and in the US, along with 22 other countries. The only negative in her career was the postponement of her Las Vegas residency this January. Fans with tickets to her show might not forgive her, making her win now unlikely (13.00). The two remaining nominees, The Weekend and Drake are both brilliant musicians. But their victory in the category this year would be a huge surprise.
