This is the third edition of the Ostrava Open, a WTA 500 tournament played on indoor hard courts at the Ostrava Arena. It is one of the last events ahead of the WTA Finals, so fans can see a top-level field this year. Including the world-ranking leader Iga Swiatek.

The world No3 Anett Kontaveit who is also the defending champion. Along with other top 10 players, Paula Badosa and Maria Sakkari. But local fans can also support their best players, led by world No19 Karolina Pliskova. While other former Grand Slam winners, such as Elena Rybakina and Victoria Azarenka will also compete in the tournament. Let’s see the biggest favorites to win the title and the $116,340 prize money.

Swiatek is the Top Favorite in the 2022 WTA Ostrava Winner Odds

Probably it won’t surprise you that the world No1 and three-time Grand Slam winner Iga Swiatek is the top favorite to win in Ostrava this weekend. Online sportsbooks in the Czech Republic offer an odds of 2.50 for her victory. It would be her 11th WTA Tour title, the 8th in the season which is an amazing number.

Especially as it also includes two Grand Slam titles after Swiatek won both the 2022 French and US Open. This will be the 21-year-old Polish player’s first appearance since her victory in New York, where she defeated Ons Jabeur in the final. Now the top seed of this tournament will start in the second round and meet the winner of the Ajla Tomljanovic vs Zhang Shuai tie.

One of her main rivals can be the defending champion, Anett Kontaveit who has an odds of 12.50 to win again. The Estonian player started the season well after winning in St Petersburg and finishing as a runner-up in Qatar. After a weaker period, the world No3 seems to be back in her best form.

Kontaveit reached the final in Tallinn last week but lost there against Barbora Krejcikova. The Czech player is mentioned with similar chances in the 2022 WTA Ostrava winner odds to get her fifth title. Krejcikova won three Grand Slam titles in doubles this year but she will concentrate on singles now. The 2021 French Open winner will start against American Shelby Rogers in the first round with an odds of 1.555 to win the match.

The Czech Favorites and Chances of Other Top Players

The Czech public is really lucky to have so many great women players and see them live in Ostrava. Karolina Pliskova is the highest-ranked Czech player at the moment with 19th place. But the former world No1 hasn’t been in her best form this season. She reached the semi-final in the Canadian Open and the quarter-final at the 2022 US Open which have been her best results so far. Her odds to win her first title since January 2020 are 15.00.

Online gambling sites in the Czech Republic offer the same odds for the victory of her compatriot, Petra Kvitova. The two-time Grand Slam champion won in Eastbourne this summer and was the runner-up in Cincinnati.

Kvitova can meet the second seed of the tournament, the world No4 Paula Badosa in the second round. The Spanish player had a great start to the season after winning in Sydney and reaching the semi-final in Indian Wells. But she suffered early defeats in the US Open and in the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo. Her odds to win her fourth WTA Tour title are 17.00.

We can find the same odds next to Latvian Jelena Ostapenko. The world No16 also won one event this year, in Dubai. She also finished as a runner-up in Eastbourne and in Seoul. The 2017 French Open winner can meet this year’s Wimbledon champion, Elena Rybakina in the second round. A tough game waits for the fourth seed of the event, Maria Sakkari as well in the last 16. As the Greek world No7 can play against Pliskova there. Sakkari was the runner-up here last year. Her odds to win now are 15.00 on 22Bet.
