2022 WTA Parma Winner Odds Favor Sakkari Ahead of Local Favorites

One of the last clay court events, the 2022 Emilia-Romagna Open is held this week, between 26 September – 2 October in Parma, Italy. American Coco Gauff is the defending champion but she won’t compete this time. Unlike the world No7 Maria Sakkari, the top favorite in the 2022 WTA Parma winner odds. But the local favorites Martina Trevisan, Jasmine Paolini, and the 2017 US Open winner Sloane Stephens can also fight for the trophy. 

This is only the second edition of the WTA 250 tournament in Parma after it debuted in the WTA schedule last year. It is played on outdoor clay courts and belongs to the last clay events in the season. The young US talent, and the 2022 French Open finalist, Coco Gauff won the tournament last year.

Even though the world No27 hasn’t got such results since, she can do well on her favorite surface, in front of the home crowd. She has an odds of 16.00 for victory. Another Italian player, Jasmine Paolini has a similar chance of winning according to online gambling sites in Italy. 

Paolini entered the top 50 in the world ranking this year after getting to the semi-final in Palermo and Warsaw. While she also got her first win against a top 10 player in 2022. She won her first trophy last year, also in a clay-court tournament in Lausanne, making her another favorite of this event.
