Group H has some really impressive talent among its teams. PSG, Juventus, and Benfica are all incredible clubs with great achievements and it’s always a pleasure to watch them play. Juventus and Benfica are the only previous European Cup/Champions League winners in their group. They both have two trophies. Although PSG haven’t won the tournament before, their chances are really good this year. You can check out our 2023 UCL betting predictions to see our take on the future tournament winners.

Early predictions for the final 2023 UCL Group H standings

In no surprising manner, we’re picking PSG as the winners of Group H this year. They’re off to a good start after beating Juventus and their chances of advancing are immaculate. We believe the Parisians can finish 1st with as much 15 points, or even more. Even with some slight struggles, Juventus can finish 2nd in the group. The Italians have a good team that can achieve 10 or 11 points, thus securing qualification.

As good as Benfica’s season is going; everything good must end after a while. The Portuguese could very well tally Juventus’ points in the group stage. Should that happen, we think Juventus can win on goal difference. This will be close but we believe Benfica could get 9 or 10 points as well. In last place, we have Maccabi Haifa who might get a couple of points in but those won’t be nearly enough.

Paris Saint-Germain predicted to soar through the ranks of Group H

PSG are in a similar shoe as Manchester City. The Parisians field some of the most talented and amazing players each year, only to fail in winning the Champions League title. This year they’re the second favorites overall to win the competition. And why wouldn’t they be? They have one of the best-attacking trio of players in Neymar, Mbappé, and Messi. So to answer the question, in short, Group H predictions of the 2023 UCL favor PSG to finish 1st.

2023 UCL Group H predictions

Neymar is aiming for the Ballon d’Or this year, Messi leads in assists across Europe’s top five leagues, and the club have no competition in France. Furthermore, PSG beat Juventus 2-1 on Matchday 1 of the UCL group stage. The recent performances of Paris only solidified their chances and odds at the tournament. On 20Bet Sportsbook, the odds of PSG winning Group H are 1.16. Furthermore, the odds of them advancing to the Round of 16 are 1.01, which is as good as it gets. There is no debate whether or not PSG will reach the next stage of the competition.

Juventus should reach the Round of 16 if all goes well

Juventus have lost some key players during the summer transfer window. But they also picked up some promising talent including Paul Pogba, Ángel Di María, Federico Chiesa, and Bremer. The Old Lady’s performance this season has been a bit questionable, however. They’re doing alright but Juventus seem to be lacking some attacking power from last year. There is a lot of hope for the Italians. They showed promise against PSG and their odds in Group H aren’t bad either.

Online sportsbooks in Spain favor Juventus to advance to the Round of 16, along with their Parisian opponents. Their odds of winning Group H are 6.60, which is a bit steep. In comparison, Juventus’ odds of qualifying for the next stage of the tournament are 1.42. Plus Juventus went past the group stage in their last eight UCL appearances. The Round of 16 is where the real trouble begins. Benfica shouldn’t be overlooked but we think Juventus have a better chance at the 2nd spot in Group H.

Benfica will not go down without a fight – 2023 UCL Group H predictions

2-time European Cup winners Benfica, reached the quarter-finals of the UCL last year. They gave plenty of trouble to Liverpool but the Reds eventually won. Benfica’s admirable last season performance also resulted in Liverpool signing their striker, Darwin Nunez. They haven’t been missing him so far. The Portuguese club won all of their games, as of 10 September. These include Liga Portugal, UCL qualifying, and group stage matches. But what are Benfica’s real chances in Group H of the 2023 UCL?

Many sites, including 20Bet Sportsbook, predict that the Portuguese will finish 3rd in their group. Their odds of winning Group H are 11.70, which isn’t that promising. Furthermore, their odds of qualifying for the Round of 16 are 2.73. The problem is that bookies have set the odds at 1.40 for the opposite. So do we think Benfica have what it takes? Yes, absolutely, but we won’t put them above Juventus.

Maccabi Haifa were dropped into a nightmare

In our 2023 UCL Group C predictions, we talked about “death groups”. Well, for Maccabi Haifa, the situation is very much the same. The opposing teams’ market values are 10, 20, and 40 times higher than the Israeli side’s. Maccabi Haifa had plenty of opportunities to reach the group stage of the UCL, especially in the 2000s, but they only did so once, in 2009. So realistically, do the Greens from the Carmel have any chance of qualifying for the Round of 16? No.

Online sportsbook sites in Spain have set the club’s odds at the absolute worst. The odds of them, not qualifying are 1.01, which has the same possibility as PSG advancing to the next round. Just to give you some insane numbers, Maccabi Haifa’s odds of winning Group H are 220.00. To put things into a better perspective, a €100 bet on this market would return €22.000. Yes, that’s how impossible this task is for the Israeli.
