  • The world No1 Iga Swiatek is the top favorite ahead of Simona Halep and Coco Gauff

The Cincinnati Masters or as it’s known now, the Western and Southern Open is held this week, between 15-21 August at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in the northern suburb of Cincinnati. Ashleigh Barty is the defending champion but following her retirement, she won’t be here to defend her title. The 2022 WTA Cincinnati winner odds mention the world No1, Iga Swiatek as the top favorite. But in-form Simona Halep and Coco Gauff can also perform well.

There are only two weeks until the start of this year’s last Grand Slam, the 2022 US Open. So it’s not surprising that all top players will compete in one of the last tournaments ahead of it, at the 2022 Cincinnati Masters. This will be the 94th edition of the WTA 1000 tournament which will be also one of the last events for Serena Williams.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion has recently announced her retirement following the US Open. So surely even more fans will gather to see her live for one more time. The 40-year-old star’s victory would be a huge surprise now based on her recent results. Unlike the win of a young American rising star, Coco Gauff.

Swiatek Leads the 2022 WTA Cincinnati Winner Odds

Iga Swiatek was knocked out early in the Canadian Open last week after losing against Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia in the third round. The world-ranking leader can bounce back in Cincinnati now where she is the top favorite to win the trophy. Online sportsbooks in the US offer the odds of +300.00 for her victory.

Swiatek had been on a 37-week unbeaten run and won six titles this season. Including the 2022 French Open. But she lost against Alize Cornet in the third round in Wimbledon and hasn’t been in her best form since. The Polish player can meet the French again in the second round of this event and take revenge for that defeat.

Three-time runner-up of this tournament, Simona Halep is ranked next in the 2022 WTA Cincinnati winner odds with +750.00. The former world No1 won the Canadian Open last week which was only her second title this season. But she played well recently and also reached the semi-final in Wimbledon last month.

Halep will start against Karolina Muchova in the first round and can meet Ons Jabeur in the quarter-final. The Tunisian player became the first Arab woman to reach a Grand Slam final after finishing as a runner-up in Wimbledon. The world No5 can win her third title of the season now with the odds of +1600.00 to do so.

American Favorites and Chances of Grand Slam Champions

Coco Gauff has taken the first spot in the doubles world ranking after her recent victory in the Canadian Open playing along with Jessica Pegula. The pair also reached the final of this year’s French Open and won in Qatar in the beginning of the year. But Gauff also got some great results in singles. Like reaching the final of the French Open where she eventually lost against Swiatek. Still, the 18-year-old is having the best season of her career and can go all the way on home soil. Her odds to win her third WTA Tour title are +1100.00.

Gauff’s doubles partner, Jessica Pegula also got some great results this year. Like reaching the quarter-final in the French Open and finishing as a runner-up in Madrid. Her odds to win this week are +2200.00. Online gambling sites in the US offer similar odds for the victory of another American, Amanda Anisimova.

The 20-year-old won her second title this year at the Melbourne Summer Set and reached the quarter-final in Wimbledon. She will start against Russian Daria Kasatkina, another top-form player who won the Silicon Valley Classic two weeks ago.

The winner of the 2022 Wimbledon Championship, Elena Rybakina is another big favorite to win the tournament with the odds of +1400.00. Even though the 23-year-old Kazakh player lost in the early rounds at the previous hard court tournaments.

The 2020 runner-up of this tournament, Naomi Osaka will hope for a good result too. Just like the legend of the sport, Serena Williams who won here twice before. She will meet the 2021 US Open winner Emma Raducanu in the opening round in a top match. Serena’s odds to win her 74th (and probably last) title are +5000.00 on BetOnline.
