2022 ATP Montreal Winner Odds Favor the World No1 to Defend His Title

The men’s tournament of this year’s Canadian Open is held between 8 – 14 August at the IGA Stadium in Montreal. The defending champion and the current world-ranking leader Daniil Medvedev is the biggest favorite to win the event. But the 2022 ATP Montreal winner odds also mention other young players, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner among the top contenders.

One of the oldest men’s tennis tournaments, the Canadian Open will have its 132nd edition this year with some of the best players participating in it. Including the world-ranking leader Daniil Medvedev who is also the defending champion. But the world No4 Carlos Alcaraz will also make his tournament debut and aim for his third Masters 1000 title this season.

Canadian fans hope for a good performance from the local favorites, Felix-Auger Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov. Especially in the absence of other former event winners like Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. Daniil Medvedev will return to the Canadian Open as the defending champion and has the smallest odds, 3.78 to win it again. The Russian world No1 started his preparation for the US Open with a win at the Los Cabos Open last weekend. And confirmed his lead in the world ranking in spite of winning only his first title of the season in Mexico.

Medvedev missed most of the clay season due to hernia surgery and couldn’t compete at Wimbledon. But he is back on his strongest surface where he also won his first Grand Slam title at last year’s US Open. Tsitsipas, Ruud, and the Canadian Favorites

Stefanos Tsitsipas reached the semi-finals of this tournament last year and can perform well again. He is more of a clay specialist but he has four titles on the hard court as well.  Including the ATP Finals title in 2019. This season the world No5 defended his title in the Monte-Carlo Masters and won an ATP 250 tournament in Mallorca.

Now the Greek player will play in his first hard court event since March with the odds of 14.50 to win it. Casper Ruud reached the final of this year’s Miami Open. Before reaching his first Grand Slam title in the 2022 French Open. The Norwegian’s strongest surface is also clay but can play well on hard courts too.
