The first-round qualifiers of the UEFA Champions League had already begun but we’re almost a year away from the final. Rationally speaking, the teams currently in the qualifiers don’t have a chance to reach the final. Some of them could make it out of the first group stage but even that isn’t for certain.

So, in this article, we’re focusing on the heavy hitters, the giants of Europe. In our 2023 Champions League winner predictions we’re going to list the top teams with the best odds to win the competition. The summer transfer window is open until September and future signings can easily change the odds included here.

Are People Underestimating Real Madrid Again?

The reigning champions deserve a lot of recognition and credit and that’s why they’re first on our list. Real Madrid is in a strong position, both in LaLiga and the UCL for next season. Karim Benzema is on track to receive his first golden ball later this year, for which you can see our Ballon d’Or predictions here. Madrid went through PSG, City, and Liverpool to lift their 14th title in 2022.

Whether you support Real or not, their campaign deserves praise. Los Blancos have been making moves to prepare for the upcoming season. Their hunt for Mbappé failed when the young striker signed an enormous contract extension with PSG.

But there is no reason to be sad for Madrid fans because they’re now sitting on that Mbappé money. They used part of that to sign 22-year-old Tchouameni for £68 million from Monaco. They also got Rüdiger from Chelsea for free. On the other hand, Madrid let go of Bale, Isco, and Marcelo, all club legends and big reasons for Madrid’s successes in the past decade.

As of right now, Real’s odds of winning the 2023 Champions League are 8/1, according to 888sport. Carlo Ancelotti stated that Real’s summer transfer window is complete, and the squad is more than ready for next season. Eden Hazard might be making more appearances should his health allow him.

Manchester City as the Early Favourites – 2023 Champions League Winner Predictions

For the past few years, City has entered every single season as the favourites to win both the Premier League and the Champions League. And according to online sportsbook in the UK, they’re the favourites once again. They have been very active in this transfer window and currently, the squad’s value is above €1 billion.

Most notably, City has sold Sterling to Chelsea for £48 million and Jesus to Arsenal for £44 million. They also released veteran Fernandinho, who joined Athletico-PR on a free transfer. But you all know why City are considered the favourites to win the 2023 Champions League.

The singings of Erling Haaland and Kalvin Phillips are the first steps towards winning everything next year. At least, that’s what most experts think. It’s also important to note that Guardiola’s contract expires next season, but he will no doubt receive a renewal offer before then.

The big question remains, can City finally win the UCL with all that money poured into every single transfer window? The Citizens have some of the best midfielders in the world and also have one of the deepest rosters. We’re eager to see how the new arrivals will fit into our grand plans of Pep. City’s odds to win next year are 5/2.

Liverpool Might be Expected in the Final Again According to Statistics

Seeing how Liverpool went to the UCL final last season, it makes sense that they’re among the favourites to win the competition next year. The Reds have been active as well during the summer transfer window and released multiple players. Their most notable departure is Sadio Mané, which is no doubt a loss for the club. Darwin Nunez is supposed to replace the 30-year-old winger, but it will take time to get used to the new surroundings.

Fans are also happy about the fact that Klopp extended his contract to 2026. Furthermore, both assistant coaches Krawietz and Lijnders are staying until 2026, at least according to their contracts.

As far as the pre-season goes, the results haven’t been that kind for Liverpool in the first half of July. But once again, most people do not care about the summer friendlies. Liverpool made it to three Champions League finals in the past five years and they might have a chance to do so again next season. Sites like 888sport have them winning the trophy next season with odds of 9/2. This puts the Reds as the second favourites, behind only Manchester City.

After a Disappointing Exit, Last Season Bayern Munich are Looking for Revenge

The young supply of talent in Dortmund might be endless but Bayern is the only Bundesliga club to be considered a UCL favourite each season. The Bavarians have a top-tier squad every single year, so this is not much of a surprise. There have already been a lot of changes in Munich over the past few weeks.

The arrival of Mané for £27 million is considered a steal. The club also signed 20-year-old Ajax midfielder Gravenberch to further deepen the bench. But what broke the online sportsbook in the UK was the departure of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona for a sum of £38 million. And there’s more to come.

World-class defender Matthijs de Light has been heavily linked to Bayern recently. The 22-year-old is currently among the most valuable centre-backs in the world and has expressed his interest in a transfer to the 2019/2020 Champions League winners. The current 2023 Champions League winner predictions favour Bayern a lot.

Furthermore, these predictions and odds are based on the current squad and staff. They currently have odds of 6/1 to win it all but if they continue to dominate the transfer window, they might move up a few spots on the list of UCL favourites.

Is Paris Saint-Germain’s First UCL Trophy a Fever Dream? – 2023 Champions League Winner Predictions

The French club shook the whole football world when they announced the contract extension of Mbappé not so long ago. Since then, the Ligue 1 champions signed Porto midfielder Vitinha for £35 million and also called up a lot of young players from the U19 squad. After their disappointing Champions League performance last season, it was evident that changes would come to PSG.

For example, the board sacked Pochettino and appointed Christophe Galtier as the new manager on 5 July. His contract however is only for two years, which means the level of trust isn’t that high. There have been a lot of transfer rumours surrounding the club as well.

Our Ligue 1 transfer predictions indicate that PSG is planning to spend big this summer as well. While the Parisians have one of the most valuable squads in the world, many people believe that their odds are a bit inflated. Despite never winning the competition, they’re considered a UCL favourite each year.

For example, the 2023 Champions League winner predictions put the Ligue 1 side above current champions, Real Madrid. On 888sport, PSG’s odds to win next season are the same as Bayern, with 6/1. Many people, including us, are waiting to see if PSG can finally step into the spotlight and prove everyone wrong. Where do you see them finishing next season?
