The Guardiola-Klopp rivalry seems to have heated up in the past few weeks and it will continue on Sunday. Although they will not be playing each other but they will be fighting for the same thing. The Premier League champion will be decided on 22 May and either Liverpool's historical season continues or the domination of the league by Man City will remain strong. Wolverhampton remains the only obstacle in the Reds' way. Check out our predictions for Liverpool v Wolves now.
It’s for a champion to finally rise. The trophy will either go to City or Liverpool, that much is clear. And this is why this match is one of the two most important ones on 22 May. Liverpool v Wolves predictions favour the Reds but an upset is still on the table. If Liverpool wants to have a chance at the quadruple this season, they’ll need their best form on Sunday. The same goes for Aston Villa. Liverpool’s previous chance to take the lead on the league table was in their last home match, which ended in a 1-1 draw, fortunately for their rivals. What’s even more impressive is that the Reds’ only home loss this season was against Inter in the UCL Round of 16. They remain unbeaten at Anfield in league games although their recent form hasn’t been that great, compared to themselves of course.
Wolverhampton have their work cut out for them as they have three players out with injuries. Neves and Kilman might return for the team’s last match in the season but nothing is certain yet. Both of them were crucial to Wolves this season. As for their Sunday opponents, Fabinho is sidelined at least until 25 May but Van Dijk might make a return. Since the whole season comes down to this one match, the centre-back could be starting if his knees hold up. Wolves haven’t beaten Liverpool in over three years now but both of their last two meetings ended only in 1-0 losses. But the Liverpool v Wolves predictions still favour Klopp’s side. We don’t see the Reds losing this one either but if Villa can beat City, Wolverhampton can beat Liverpool as well. Wouldn’t that be a Sunday for the books?
