After the cancellation of last season’s event, the Raw Air competition is back this year in the usual location in Norway. Lillehammer and Holmenkollen in Oslo will host the six men and four women events, with the overall winners earning €35,000 and €45,000. The latter is a record prize money for women athletes, which is higher than the men’s prize money for the first time in the history of the sport. The results also counted in the world cup standings, making it one of the most important tournaments in the season. Polish Kamil Stoch won the last overall Raw Air title in 2020 ahead of Ryoyu Kobayashi and Marius Lindvik. All of them can fight for victory again along with the current overall World Cup leader, Karl Geiger.

2022 Raw Air Winner Odds Favor Beijing Champions in Men’s Competition

Ryoyu Kobayashi won the men’s normal hill competition in the 2022 Winter Olympics. And also got the silver medal in the large hill event. So the Japanese athlete is in top form, making him the main favorite in Norway as well. Online sportsbooks in Norway offer the smallest odds, 3.00 for his overall win. Kobayashi has also won this year’s Four Hills Tournament and stands second place in the overall world cup. He is only three points behind the current leader, Karl Geiger but with some wins here Kobayashi can overtake him. The Olympic champion also won the Raw Air tournament in 2019 and finished second in 2020.

His biggest rival can be the local favorite, Marius Lindvik who has the odds of 3.50 in the 2022 Raw Air winner odds. Lindvik also won a gold medal in Beijing after finishing on top in the large hill event. He won the first Norwegian gold in large hill since 1964, surprising even his local fans.  The Norwegian finished second in the Four Hills tournament this season besides winning three World Cup events. He is currently in fourth place in the overall standing, but only a few points behind his compatriot, Halvor Egner Granerud. The 23-year-old ski jumper got his best result in the Raw Air tournament in 2020 when he finished third. But following his superb form this year, Lindvik can easily fight for the title this time.

2022 Raw Air Winner Odds: Former Raw Air Winners Are Also in Favorites

Karl Geiger got the bronze medal in the large competition at the 2022 Beijing Olympics what might have been a slightly disappointing result for him. As the German athlete leads this year’s World Cup after winning four races and finishing on the podium six more times. Online gambling sites in Norway offer the odds of 8.00 for his overall win next weekend. Even though Raw Air hasn’t been his strongest tournament. With an 11th-place finish being his best result so far. But Geiger can improve on his record with another balanced performance.

The two-time Raw Air winner Polish jumper, Kamil Stoch certainly has a better record in the tournament. He got the wins in 2018 and 2020 after finishing as a runner-up in the first tournament in 2017. Stoch is one of the most decorated ski jumpers with three Olympic gold medals. But he was left without any medal in Beijing. The 34-year-old finished fourth and sixth in the individual events, and he is only in 11th place in the World Cup. Now his odds to win the Raw Air competition are 15.00. While the winner of the first tournament, Austrian Stefan Kraft is also mentioned with similar odds on 22Bet. The two-time overall world cup winner won the gold in Beijing as a member of the men’s large hill team. But he only finished 10th and 13th in the individual races. His odds to get back to winning now are 17.00.
