Mass Gambling Arrests Go Down in Malaysia

The gambling situation to be found in Malaysia today is interesting to say the least. According to Malaysian gambling laws, most forms of the wonderful pastime are legal. Legal forms of gambling within the nation include casino gambling, slot machines, horse races and a national lottery.  

Despite the fact that all of these different forms of gambling are perfectly legal, a massive black market for gambling has developed, giving local law enforcement plenty to deal with. This can likely be attributed to the fact that, even though casino gambling is legal, there is only one location where Malaysians can get to it. 

The Malaysian government rules with an iron fist when it comes to illegal gambling in its cities. Proof of this can be found in some of the recent arrests that have gone down within the nation. Dozens have been arrested recently in connection with gambling violations.  

This really only applies to those who participate in land-based illegal gambling, or visit illegal gambling dens and other such establishments. Those who play at online casinos in Malaysia are basically off the hook. This is due to the fact that they play at online casinos where are based in countries where gambling is legal, and far outside of the Malaysian governments jurisdiction. 

Those who neglect internet gambling in Malaysia and take part in illegal land-based practices are punished hard. Ninety-four Muslims were recently arrested for playing 4D, a game of chance similar to a lottery. Muslims are supposed to refrain from gambling in compliance with Islamic law.
