Will F1 Format Find Favor With Fans In Future?

Max Verstappen is still on course to win his first championship, the Mexican Grand Prix odds say as much. However, reigning champ Lewis Hamilton could still spoil his dream. F1 fans haven’t seen a title race this close in a long time and those who like to bet on sports in Mexico are taking full advantage. Better yet we’re starting to hear about the arrangements for next year when new cars and regulations are set to shake things up. Just don’t bet on F1 or Pirelli getting it right.
The Mexican Grand Prix odds are, frankly, much as you’d expect. At that altitude you can bet on Red Bull to have the advantage, which is why the odds on Red Bull are so much better. You can at best find a bet on Max Verstappen to win the Mexican Grand Prix at 4/6. Which doesn’t sound very exciting, but a bet on Lewis Hamilton at 2/1? That’s a steal. Sure, you can bet on Mercedes to struggle a little, but Lewis is no slouch, and Red Bull aren’t beyond error. So take the chance.
Many others will even if you don’t. Out on track anything could happen. So whilst the odds on Mercedes staying calm under pressure are good, the odds on Max Verstappen remaining cool are red hot. Still, that is the mark of a champion and he is looking just like one these days. Of course whilst the online betting sites in Mexico currently give him the best of chances, those odds on Lewis Hamilton at Bet365 are almost irresistible. As are the promises made about next year’s F1.
Pirelli Promise Perfection For New F1 Cars
Next year F1 is going to change. Or at least that is what they tell us. They’ve told us this before, of course, but we’re prone to believe despite all the evidence. As fans, we constantly hope that for once those who run F1 will make it better and not demonstrably worse. So as we pour over the 2021 Mexican Grand Prix odds we can’t help wondering about next season. We’d all like to bet on the F1 driver’s championship remaining this close a fight, but know it really may not.
2021 Mexican Grand Prix Odds
- Anyone Else – 100/1+
- Daniel Ricciardo – 66/1
- Carlos Sainz – 66/1
- Lando Norris – 50/1
- Charles Leclerc – 33/1
- Valtteri Bottas – 16/1
- Sergio Perez – 12/1
- Lewis Hamilton – 2/1
- Max Verstappen – 4/6
The new cars and their revamped aero set-ups may make for closer racing, but that’s only part of the story. The tires too have to improve. Several times races descended to almost parade levels of stagnancy because of tire wear. So, Pirelli have made big promises for next year, something F1 fans have also heard before. Will they live up to those? Well, those who frequently avail themselves of the odds on F1 at online sportsbook sites in Mexico like Bet365 might think not.
Bet365 Has All The Mexican Grand Prix Odds
Having browsed the odds on the Mexican Grand Prix at Bet365 many spotted the rumor about format adjustment. They tried sprint races this year, and instantly divided opinion. Some say they’re a waste of time, others think them an interesting development of the entertainment package. Ross Brawn, F1’s managing director, however, seems happy to expand the role of 1/3 distance races. So perhaps next year we’ll have two sets of Mexican Grand Prix odds to view.
2021 F1 Drivers Championship
- Lewis Hamilton – 7/4
- Max Verstappen – 4/9
Naturally we none of us are counting our chickens before they’re hatched. Just as Max could make a mistake on Sunday, we can’t be sure that F1 is heading in the right direction. Pointless sprint races and poor rubber could make for a poor evolutionary path. Still, all that is off on the horizon whilst the Mexican Grand Prix odds are more immediate and well worth taking advantage of Mexican gambling laws to pick up. Especially that 2/1 on Lewis Hamilton.
