While the women’s European Volleyball Championship is still going on, the men’s tournament will also start tomorrow. Just like in the case of the women’s event, four countries will host the competition for the second time in the tournament’s history. 24 teams take part in the championship divided into four pools. The best four teams from each pool will qualify for the knockout stage and continue in the last 16. Serbia won the last tournament in 2019 which was their second title. While Russia (the former Soviet Union) has won the most titles with 14. Both teams are favorites again just like the host country of the final.

Poland Can win its Second Title According to the 2021 EuroVolley Betting Preview

The 2018 world champions, Poland will aim for victory on home soil after their early exit in the Tokyo Olympics. Vital Heynen’s team lost against France in the quarter-final in spite of their second place in the world rankings. Now the team can prove its skills in front of the home fans and get the European Championship title for the second time. In the last tournament, they won the bronze medal, now online sportsbooks in Poland offer the odds of 2.80 for their victory. Cuban-born Wilfredo Leon can be a key player in achieving it, who was voted twice the CEV Champions League Most Valuable Player.

Poland will play in Pool A where their biggest rival can be the defending champions, Serbia. Slobodan Kovac’s team can be only the fourth team to win back-to-back titles in the tournament’s history. Their team has belonged to the elite of the sport since 2007 when they won the bronze medal. They won the title twice so far, in 2011 and 2019. Plus they got the bronze on two more occasions. Uros Kovacevic, Aleksander Atanasijevic, and Srecko Lisinac were members of the last winning team and can fight for the gold again. Serbia’s odds for another title are 4.80 in the 2021 EuroVolley betting preview.

Russia and France Are Also the Favorites

Russia is the record holder in the history of the European Championship with 14 titles. But in the last tournament two years ago they were knocked out in the quarter-finals by Slovenia. The ROC team did well in the Tokyo Olympics this summer where they reached the final. Even though they lost it eventually against France. Now online gambling sites in Poland mention them as one of the main favorites with the odds of 4.00. Russia will start in Pool C in Finland and should qualify from their group easily. Egor Kliuka and Ivan Iakovlev were both selected in the dream team at the Olympics and are looking to guide the team all the way again.

The winner of the 2020 Olympic Games, France has only won once the European Championship so far, back in 2015. Now they have a big chance of winning it again and the odds of 5.00 to do so on 22Bet.  Most of the players of the European Championship winning team are still playing along with younger talents. Like the MVP of the Olympics, Earvin Ngapeth, team captain Benjamin Toniutti, and young setter Antoine Brizard. They will be without former head coach Laurent Tille though who resigned after the Olympic victory. But his replacement is the hugely successful Brazilian, Bernardinho Rezende who won six Olympic medals with his former teams.
