Chase Elliott seems to find last year’s form after winning his first race in the season and finishing second last weekend. Now he can continue his great run in Sonoma this weekend. The first race at Sonoma Raceway at Sears Point was held in 1989 and has been the part of the NASCAR Cup series ever since. It is one of the seven road-course events of the season with several road-course specialists also taking part in it. From the current championship drivers Martin Truex Jr. has the most victories. As he won the race in 2013, 2018 and 2019. He is the two-time defending winner in the 2.52 miles long course after last year’s event was cancelled. The defending NASCAR Cup series champion, Chase Elliott started the season with mixed results but he seems to find his form again. He won his first race of this season two weeks ago in Austin, which was also a road race. Then Elliott finished second behind his teammate, Kyle Larson in Charlotte. He has a great road-course record after finishing in the top three in the last three road races.
