2021 Amstel Gold Race Winner Odds: Can van Aert Win One of the Ardennes Classics?

Both Wout van Aert and Julian Alaphilippe will compete in this year’s Amstel Gold Race while the 2019 winner Mathieu van der Poel will skip the event. In the first spring classics we can find several other top riders in the starting list from Primoz Roglic to Jakob Fuglsang. The Amstel Gold Race means the beginning of the spring classics. Where usually climbers get the victory instead of the favorites of the cobbled classics. It all seemed to have changed in recent years with the appearance of multi-talents van Aert and van der Poel who can perform well in all kinds of races. Wout van Aert won this year’s Gent-Wevelgem, another one-day classic in Belgium three weeks ago. He also finished as a runner-up in the 2021 Tirreno-Adriatico and the Brabantse Pijl this week. The Belgian rider is in superb form as he also has a third-place finish from the 2021 Milan-San Remo. Beside a 4th place from the 2021 Strade Bianche.
