  • 2021 NASCAR Cup Series next race is the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 in Atlanta
  • Current leader Denny Hamlin will start from the pole position in Sunday
  • Last year’s winner, Kevin Harvick is the biggest favorite to win again

The 2021 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 is held this Sunday, 21st of March at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Denny Hamlin leads the overall standing at the moment and he will also start from pole position. But in the NASCAR QuikTrip 500 odds Kevin Harvick is the biggest favorite who won the race here last year.

The Atlanta Motor Speedway is one of the drivers’ favorite courses and also the second-oldest racing surface on the schedule. The first Folds of Honor race was held in 1960. And for a long period it was Atlanta’s second race, held in late-season, usually in November. Then it was moved to an earlier date. And since 2011 this is Atlanta’s only NASCAR Cup series event. Where the 2021 season will continue this weekend with Denny Hamlin starting from the pole. There hasn’t been any qualifying before the race so officials used a special formula again to decide the grid order. Which has favored the current series leader, Hamlin who finished third last weekend at Phoenix. He has already won here once in 2012 just like other drivers from the current field. Including Kevin Harvick who is the defending champion and the biggest favorite of the bookmakers.

NASCAR QuikTrip 500 odds mention several favorites with similar odds

Online sportsbooks in the US offer similar odds for several top drivers like Hamlin, Elliott or Keselowski. But last year’s winner, Kevin Harvick has the smallest odds, +550 to win again. The 2014 Cup Series winner is in 5th place in the overall standing at the moment after three top 6 finishes so far. But he hasn’t been able to get on the podium yet, which might be a realistic aim in Atlanta.  On the track where he always performs superbly. Besides winning here twice Harvick also finished in the top 10 in his last six visits.

NASCAR QuikTrip 500 odds
Let’s race!

Kyle Larson and Martin Truex Jr follow him in the odds with +600 according to the NASCAR QuikTrip 500 odds. Larson is one of the surprise drivers of the season after winning in Las Vegas and finishing in the top 10 in three other races. The Hendrick Motorsports driver finished second in Atlanta in 2017 and can even top that this time. While the winner of the Pennzoil 400 race last weekend, Martin Truex Jr. hopes to continue his winning streak. The 2017 NASCAR Cup Series winner is in 4th place in the championship but has been improving week by week. Even though he hasn’t won in Atlanta yet he finished 2nd and third in the last two years.

Elliott and Hamlin can go for their first victory of the season

The reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Chase Elliott hasn’t been too lucky this season but could at least finish in the top 5 last weekend. He hasn’t got great results on his home track in Atlanta yet with just one top 5 finish. But if he wants to defend his title it’s time for him to improve on his results and get his first win. Online gambling sites in the US offer the odds of +750 for his victory.

Just like for the current leader, Denny Hamlin who hasn’t won in the season either. But with his balanced performance he is still ahead of everyone. He finished 3rd last weekend which was his second podium finish this year. Hamlin has already won in Atlanta in 2012 and will start from the pole position which can give him some extra advantage. We also have to mention Brad Keselowski in the big favorites who managed to win here twice in the last four years. The Team Penske driver had three top five finishes in the season so far and follows Hamlin in second place. Now his odds to finish on the top of the podium is +700 on BetOnline.
