Week by week golf fans can watch great tournaments in the season. Here comes the next, the Arnold Palmer Invitational which is held in Florida between the 4th and 7th of March. The tournament is part of the 2020-21 PGA Tour with several top players taking part in it. Like Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau and Tyrell Hatton who also belong to the top favorites in the Arnold Palmer Invitational betting predictions.
The Arnold Palmer Invitational was founded in 1979 and has been played since each March at the Bay Hill Club and Lodge. As one of only five invitational tournaments it has a smaller field of 120 players with no open qualifying. Tyrell Hatton is the defending champion but Rory McIlroy and Jason Day have also won here. While Tiger Woods has the most victories after winning the event a record 8 times. After his accident, sadly he won’t be able to compete now, but we can still find several top players in this year’s field.
Arnold Palmer Invitational betting predictions favor McIlroy ahead of DeChambeu
Rory McIlroy won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in 2018 and has got four top-six finishes since 2017. The British player has been getting better results in each tournament. He finished T6 in the Workday Championship last week. His last PGA Tour win is from November 2019 so it’s really time for the current world No8 to get his 19th PGA Tour victory. Online sportsbooks in the US agree with that and offer the odds of +850 for his win.
But McIlroy won’t have an easy task in a field full of other top players. Like Bryson DeChambeau who is just two places behind him in the ranking in 10th place. The American golfer won the 2020 US Open but hasn’t achieved similar successes since. He finished fourth in last year’s tournament here. While his best result is finishing as a runner-up in 2018. Now he has the odds of +1000 to win here according to the Arnold Palmer Invitational betting predictions.
Other favorites include Hatton and Fitzpatrick
Last year’s winner, Tyrell Hatton got his first and so far only PGA Tour victory at Bay Hill. Now he seems to be in good form again after winning the Abu Dhabi Championship in January. The English player is in 6th place in the ranking after a great season when he also won the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth. Hatton, who is originally from Marlow, Buckinghamshire has bought a house close to the golf field, at Lake Nona. Which might give him some extra confidence over the others. His odds to defend his title is +1800 on BetOnline.
Norwegian Viktor Hovland is also mentioned in the top favorites by online gambling sites in the US. The 23-year-old player already has two wins in the PGA Tour after winning the Puerto Rico Open and the Mayakoba Golf Classic last year. He is in top form after two T2 and one T5 finishes in his last three tournaments. Explaining his odds of +1200 to win here. But the world No9 Patrick Reed can also get his second PGA Tour win of the season after his victory at the Farmers Insurance Open this January. His record is not as great here with two top 15 finishes in his last three performances. Unlike Matthew Fitzpatrick who finished as a runner-up in the 2019 API. It might be his time now to get his first PGA Tour win with the odds of +2200 to do so.
