The 2021 F1 Haas special odds suggest the American-owned outfit will have another difficult season. However, a very ambitious rookie line-up led by Micheal Schumacher’s son Mick Schumacher has joined the team. So, we shall expect no less than a competitive debut, even if Haas will unlikely be part of the title race.
If you had the chance to watch ‘Drive to Survive’ seasons one and two on Netflix, you may recall Haas’s big struggle in the previous seasons. Basically, the team was all over the place. They had problems with getting investors on board. They also failed to figure out how to develop their car, and they were not happy with their drivers. Finally, both Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen were dropped and new talents were confirmed for the 2021 season.
Haas finished ninth in the constructors’ championship in 2020. It is the same finish as 2019. As per online sportsbook news sites in Monaco, Haas are keen for improvement in 2021. Therefore, they decided to bring in the 21-year-olds Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin from Formula Two. The 2021 F1 Haas special odds do not indicate Schumacher and Mazepin are for a title race. But, there is optimism for Haas to finish better than the ninth place.
Haas will not develop their car throughout the season
Haas had arguably the slowest car on the grid in the last three seasons. Their Team Principal Guenther Steiner was very clear about their poor car, which was miserably uncompetitive. He does not expect the 2021 campaign to be a complete turnaround. But he thinks the progress will likely be achieved, as per Motorsport.com.
Haas still has a big issue with investment. Thus, the team will not develop their 2021 car throughout the season. However, they will compete with the new engine Ferrari. That should be a major upgrade to the 2020 car. With that being said, the 2021 F1 Haas special odds are 501 at BetVictor for the team to win the constructors championship.
The progress for Haas will likely come from Schumacher
Formula One fans must be very excited for Michael Schumacher’s son Mick Schumacher to finally make his F1 debut. He will be driving for Haas. There is a lot of hype around him and high expectations. It is not only about Mick’s famed surname, but it is also about his impressive career in junior categories.
Mick Schumacher has beaten Dan Ticktum on his way to the title in the F3 category. In the second season, Schumacher won the title comfortably. In the F2 category, Schumacher’s first season was relatively poor, but in the second season, he won the championship against Callum Illot.
Online sportsbooks in Monaco suggest Schumacher stands at 501 to win the F1 championship in 2021. In other words, he will likely struggle in his first F1 season, before he starts to compete among the best. Schumacher is partnering with Nikita Mazepin who finished third overall in the F2 championship. But his odds are 2,501 to win the F1 championship which is at the very bottom of the list.
