  • 2020 FIFA World Cup is held in Qatar between 4-11 February
  • 6 teams will take after the withdrawal of Auckland City
  • Bayern Munich are the favorite to win the cup ahead of the Brazilian teams

Last year’s FIFA Club World Cup will be held between the 4th and 11th of February in Qatar. Six teams will take part in it including the 2020 Champions League winner Bayern Munich. They are the biggest favorite in the 2020 FIFA Club World Cup betting preview to get the trophy. But the winner of the 2020 Copa Libertadores can be a tough opponent for the Germans.

The first FIFA Club World Cup was held in 2000, then after a four-year break it returned in 2005 and has been held every year since. The 2020 cup was postponed from its original date in December to this February but at least it will go ahead. Normally seven teams take part in the tournament, but this time the team from the Oceania Champions League, Auckland City have withdrawn from the competition. Fans can still watch six great teams who all became champions in their local league.

From Asia we have South Korean Ulsan Hyundai, Egyptian Al Ahly from Africa, Mexican UANL from the CONCACAF region. Then of course Bayern Munich from Europe, the Brazilian team of either Palmeiras or Santos from South America. And we also have Qatari club Al-Duhail representing the hosts. Liverpool won the last tournament after defeating Flamengo in the final, while this time Bayern have the chance to keep the trophy in Europe.

2020 FIFA Club World Cup betting preview expect another European victory

Bayern Munich have won everything last season, the Bundesliga, the German Cup and the Champions League. Plus they’ve become the winners of the UEFA Super Club when they defeated Sevilla 2-1 in the extra time. It was followed by another trophy after winning against Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup. And Hansi Flick’s team continued in a similar style in the new season. They are leading the Bundesliga 4 points ahead of RB Leipzig, even though they’ve already suffered two losses in the Bundesliga. Bayern were very confident in the Champions League and won their group ahead of Atletico Madrid.

Let’s play!

So no wonder online sportsbooks in Germany predict their victory in their 2020 FIFA Club World Cup betting preview. Bayern have the odds of 1.36. to win another trophy. The team will only join the tournament in the semi-finals and meet the winner of the Al-Duhail vs Al Ahly tie. But none of them should be a very difficult task for a team which knocked out Chelsea, Barcelona, Lyon and PSG last season. In their only previous appearance in this tournament in 2013, they managed to win it. And with players like Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller or Manuel Neuer they have every chance to do it again.

Can a Brazil team stop the German powerhouse?

In the previous winners of the tournament we can only find European and South American teams. Actually Brazilian teams won the first three events while their last victory came in 2012 thanks to Corinthians. Online gambling sites in Germany now offer the odds of 6.00 for the victory of Palmeiras. The team can play for the first time in the club world cup in case they win the Copa Libertadores final next weekend. They will face one of their local rivals, Santos there who have already featured in the FIFA event in 2011. Then they finished as a runner-up behind Barcelona.

Now both teams have to first qualify for the tournament. Then they can meet the winner of the UANL vs Ulsan game in the other semi-final. The Mexican team could achieve the best result of their zone with a win over their Asian opponent. While South Korean teams have already reached the semi-finals on a few occasions. But they haven’t been able to reach the final yet. So Ulsan’s final victory would be a huge surprise as shown by their odds (17.00) on bet365.
