Trump is the biggest favorite along with his main rivals, O’Sullivan and Selby
The 2020 Snooker World Grand Prix takes place this week, between the 14th and 20th of December at Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes. The defending champion, Neil Robertson is already out, but other top players are still at the competition. We can find Trump, O’Sullivan and Selby in the biggest favorites according to the 2020 Snooker World Grand Prix odds.
The 2020 Snooker World Grand Prix will be the 7th edition of the event. The top 32 players take part in the tournament, which is also part of the 2020-21 Coral Cup series. Judd Trump has already won it twice and in the top favorites again. Australian Neil Robertson won the trophy and the £100,000 winner prize last year. But to everyone’s surprise he has been already knocked out in the first round by Robert Milking. While top seed and world No1 Trump will start the tournament on Tuesday.
2020 Snooker World Grand Prix odds predict top seed players in the final
As usual, online sportsbooks in the UK offer the smallest odds, 3.50 for the victory of Judd Trump. The leader of the world ranking has already won the English and Northern Ireland Open in the new, 2020-21 snooker season. While he also finished as a runner-up in the Championship League and the UK Championship where he was beaten by Robertson. Trump will start on Tuesday against Michael Holt who has just qualified for the tournament as 32nd. It should be an easy win for the top seed according to the 2020 Snooker World Grand Prix odds.
His biggest rival, Ronnie O’Sullivan will also start on Tuesday, playing against Ali Carter. The 2018 winner is also in great form after reaching the finals at both the Northern Ireland and Scottish Open. Even though he lost both against Trump and Mark Selby. Now the 44-year-old six-time world champion has the chance to win his first open of the season. But he will need to concentrate more at the final moments. Probably pay less attention to his rivals and argue less with the referee. He is still one of the biggest favorites by online gambling sites in the UK with the odds of 5.00.
Can Selby win two in a row?
Mark Selby is also a candidate for the victory after he managed to defeat O’Sullivan last weekend in the Scottish Open’s final. It was quite a heated clash between the two players who have a long going war between them. With both players accusing the other for making noises and trying to disturb, Selby could handle this pressure better. It was his second win in the season after claiming the European Masters’ title. Now he has the odds of 6.00 to get his first World Grand Prix trophy.
Two former winners, Barry Hawkins and Shaun Murphy are also in this year’s field but less chance of winning. Hawkins is already through to the next round though after defeating Ricky Walden in the first round, but he is likely to play against O’Sullivan there. While Murphy will start the competition on Wednesday against Jack Lisowski in a tight game. He is favored to go through with the odds of 1.66 but has the odds of 19.00 for the final win on bet365.
