But, the Polish Sports Personality of the Year odds give Lewandowski the edge.
The Polish Sports Personality of the Year chosen annually by the readers of the Polish sports magazine Przeglad Sportowy is one of the oldest contests in the world. For the year 2020, three athletes are dominating the race for their outstanding achievements. However, the leader of the treble-winning season for Bayern Lewandowski is rightfully favored by most online gambling sites in Poland.
Should you place a bet on Lewandowski or any other outstanding athlete, make sure to do it before the end of the month. The Polish Sports Personality of the Year odds are available only until November 30. Just check out our review about 22BET Sportsbook, to see the full list of contenders.
Lewandowski, the 2020 treble-winner
The 32-year-old Robert Lewandowski who won the award in 2015, is the favorite to win it again this year. The Polish Sports Personality of the Year odds are 1.45 at 22BET Sportsbook. His outstanding achievement as Bayern’s center forward for the past season will certainly be taught in history books.
In 2020 he won every title and dominated every competition with his goals. He scored 55 goals in 47 appearances on the way to the 2020 treble. According to online sportsbook news sites in Poland, Lewandowski was the top scorer in the Bundesliga (34 goals) for the third year in a row. He also was the top scorer in the Champions League (15) and the DFB Cup (6). On top of all, he is still performing at the highest level this season. Will he win the award? Heck yes!
Swiatek, the first Polish player to win a Grand Slam
With her impressive victory at the French Open, Iga Swiatek became the first Polish tennis player to win a Grand Slam. She defeated World No. 6 Sofia Kenin in straight sets in the final to win her first-ever Grand Slam title. This is Swiatek’s biggest achievement since winning the junior singles championship at 2018 Wimbledon.
Swiatek broke also some impressive records with her Grand Slam win. She became the youngest player to lift the Suzanne Lenglen Cup since Monica Seles in 1992. Besides, she is the first female player to win the French Open without dropping a set since Justine Henin in 2007. All of that makes her rightfully among the frontrunners for the award with 4 odds. However, she is only 19 years old, which means there are many achievements to come.
Zmarzlik, the two-time world champion
The Polish motorcycle speedway’s leading star Bartosz Zmarzlik won the Sports Personality of the Year in 2019. He has a good chance to retain the award with 8 odds. Zmarzlik recently became Poland’s first-ever double world champion after winning FST Grupa Brokerska Torun SGP round eight. It comes after he won four out of eight SDPs in 2020 becoming only the third rider in SGP history to win back-to-back world titles. No doubt that Zmarzlik made an exceptional achievement, but still Lewandowski seems the biggest winner of 2020.
