Following yesterday’s games, now we know the teams who can still fight for a place for next year’s European Championship. The decisive four games will take part in November, with the winners of them qualifying for the tournament. Let’s see the favorites for the last spots in the Euro 2020 play-off finals predictions.
Eight teams are still fighting for the remaining four places at Euro 2020 thanks to the new format introduced lately by the UEFA. As following the qualifying group stage 16 non-qualified teams could take part in the qualifying play-offs. The teams were selected based on their performance of the 2018-19 Nations League. They play in four different paths, with one final winner in each path. The semi-finals were held last night, with the winners getting through to the finals in November. In four games the match went into extra time and in three of them, only penalties decided the winner. After getting to know all participating teams of the finals, let’s see their odds to qualify.
Euro 2020 play-off finals predictions expect a tight game in the first final
In Path, A Hungary will play against Iceland, where any result is possible according to the Euro 2020 play-off finals predictions. The home team is slightly favored to win with the odds of 2.47 while Iceland’s victory has the odds of 2.89. The hosts managed to knock-out Bulgaria in Sofia with a 3-1 victory, the guests won at home against Romania 2-1. Both teams played in the last European Championship in France. Iceland for the first time in its history. What’s more, they managed to get to the quarter-finals where they lost against France. Hungary returned to the tournament after a long, 44-year break and also played well there.
Now both teams will aim to qualify again, so we should expect a tight game between them. The home advantage might favor Marco Rossi’s team but Iceland can be capable of another victory with its top-class players. Like Everton midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson or CSKA Moscow defender Hordur Magnusson. In the Hungarian team Champions League semi-finalist RB Leipzig goalkeeper, Peter Gulacsi and Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai can be the strongest points.
Northern Ireland and Serbia should get the win at home
In the final of Path, B Northern Ireland will host Slovakia hopefully in another exciting game. Slovakia will aim to beat the other Irish team after knocking-out the Republic of Ireland on penalties in the semi-final. They will have a more difficult task now to win away against a team which stands only two places behind them in the world ranking. Just like their opponents Slovakia played in Euro 2016 and got to the round of 16. But Northern Ireland playing at home might have the little extra they need to win the game. Their odds to do so is 2.37, Slovakia has the odds of 3.184 to qualify at the 22BET Sportsbook.
Online sportsbooks in Serbia predict an easy win for their favorites in the final of Path C, Serbia vs Scotland. Well, it might be an easier game than the previous where they defeated Norway after extra time. Scotland’s game against Israel also went to extra time. Then into penalties where Scottish players had the better nerves. But to win the game in Belgrade might be a tall order from Steve Clarke’s team who played last in the European Championship 24 years ago. True though that Serbia couldn’t play in major tournaments either recently.
In the last final Georgia will play against North Macedonia where both teams can get the victory. And with it the chance to represent their country for the first time in the European Championship. Online gambling sites in Serbia offering similar odds for all results, with Georgia being slightly favored on 22Bet.
