Kevin Harvick leads the championship ahead of Denny Hamlin
The next stop in the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series will be the Yellawood 500 race in Talladega, Lincoln, Alabama. Before the second race in the round of 12 of the playoffs, Kevin Harvick leads the championship and he is also in the favorites to win the next race. But the NASCAR Yellawood 500 winner odds mention several other drivers with a chance of winning. Let’s see who they are.
This will be the 103rd race in the Talladega Superspeedway after the first race was held in 1969. The 2.66 mile oval is the largest in the NASCAR schedule. Ryan Blaney won the race last season which was his third victory in his career. Even though he hasn’t qualified for the round of 12 this year, he will surely go for another great result in the track. While current championship leader Kevin Harvick only finished in 17th place in 2019. The race has already produced several surprise winners in its history. So beside the favorites, anyone can win. Defending champion Kyle Busch will need the points even more to make the cut line and be able to continue in the round of 8.
NASCAR Yellawood 500 winner odds can’t decide on a clear favorite
Online sportsbooks in the US offer the same odds, 11.00 for the victory of four drivers. Joey Lagano, Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney and Denny Hamlin are the biggest favorites of this race. Lagano has already won three times in Talladega and finished in the top 5 in the last six occasions. He is currently in 5th place in the championship with two race wins and two more podium finishes in the postseason.
We find Chase Elliott just one point behind him, with similar results in the season. He didn’t finish the spring race here in the Geico 500, but was the winner of it last year. In the Yellawood 500 Elliott also has a good record with three top-five finishes. While Ryan Blaney was the winner of this race last year and has a good chance to repeat this result. The Team Penske driver needs a race win to qualify for the last 8, and he won’t have a better chance for it than in the Talladega circuit.
Championship leader Harvick can also win the race
We find Kevin Harvick on the top of the drivers standings at the moment, but only three points ahead of Denny Hamlin. No surprise that both of them are mentioned by online gambling sites in the US in the NASCAR Yellawood 500 winner odds. Hamlin has won once here in 2014, and finished third last year. Just like in the previous race in Las Vegas, giving him a big chance to catch the current leader Harvick.
Who also is in good form after winning two races in the playoffs after his confident driving in the regular season. He has the best car and his team under Rodney Childers apply great tactics most of the time. In this track Harvick hasn’t got so great results, in the last three years he always finished out of the top 10. But in this season he might improve on his statistics, with the odds of 13.00 on Bet Online to win the race.
We also have to mention the third place driver in the championship, Brad Keselowski who has the odds of 12.00 to get the victory. He has won in Talladega five times already but his last success was three year ago in 2017. He is driving a Ford which has been dominant in this track and has won 10 out of 11 races here. So Keselowski has a good chance to win his fifth race of the season and 35th title in the series.
