Ajax are the favorites to get their 27th title
The Dutch top football league started two weeks ago, on the 12th of September and scheduled to finish on the 16th of May. A total of 18 teams are taking part in the league again where no team was crowned as a champion last season. Now surely all the big teams will aim for the title, with Ajax being the favorite in the Eredivisie 2021 winner odds.
The last season of the Dutch premier football league was declared void by the Royal Netherlands Football Association with no teams being declared as champion. It was a shame for AZ fans whose team was equal on points with Ajax in the top of the league. Now they will have another chance to fight for the title, which they won twice so far, in 1981 and 2009. Ajax have won the most titles, 26 followed by PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord. These four teams are the favorites to win the championship in the new season as well, let’s see their chances.
The Eredivisie 2021 winner odds favor the 2019 champions
Online sportsbooks in the Netherlands offer the smallest odds, 1.57 for the victory of Ajax Amsterdam. The club has the most wins in the league’s history and belongs to the top European clubs. Even though they couldn’t qualify to the last 16 in last season’s Champions League. Ajax were the leaders of the league last season when it was abandoned but AZ were catching them. New players arrived at the club in the summer like Brazilian striker Antony and Ghanaian Mohammed Kudus. Despite Hakim Ziyech and Donny van de Beek leaving the team, their squad should be still strong enough to win another title.
PSV are expected to be their biggest threat according to the Eredivisie 2021 winner odds. The club was only in 4th place last season before the suspension seven points behind the leaders. So no wonder they are looking to strengthen the team with new players like Barcelona talent Pedri. He might not join them yet. Unlike Israeli star Eran Zahavi who signed a contract with the team last weekend. Under new manager German Roger Schmidt the team hopes to improve on last season’s performance and fight for the title. Their odds to win it is 3.50 on bet365.
Other applicants for the trophy
With a manager change during the season, and the lead of new boss Dick Advocaat, Feyenoord improved a lot in the second part of the season. They finished in 3rd place. So far last year’s team hasn’t changed much and most of the players stayed. Including defender Marcos Senesi and the captain, Steven Berghuis. They also signed Portuguese midfielder Joao Texeira and Dutch winger Bryan Linssen to add some depth to their squad.
Online gambling sites in the Netherlands also mention AZ Alkmaar in the favorites. The team was playing in great form last season until the league was suspended. Surely they will try to repeat their performance and fight for the title. AZ also managed to keep most of their players so far including attacking trio Idrissi, Stengs and Boadu. Norwegian midfielder Hakon Evjen can play a key part this season just like young talent Tijani Reijnders. Fans are hoping that the team will continue with their attractive, possession-based football and get the club’s third title. Their odds to do so are 13.00.
