Liverpool Signs Belgian Striker Benteke

Belgian striker Benteke has signed for Liverpool Football Club for a new record fee of GBP 32.5m as he hopes to help his new team challenge for the title.
The Reds have acquired their seventh signing of the transfer window. Benteke, 24, has been immense for Aston Villa since he signed for the club in 2012. For most parts of last season, bad form and injuries plagued all of Liverpool’s strikers. The new Belgian talent is a proven goal scorer in the Premier League. Manchester United were rumoured to be in the running for the striker, however the player chose to move to Anfield. Belgian striker Benteke arrived at Liverpool’s training complex yesterday to finalize the deal. Speaking after his signing, the new man stated in an interview on the Reds’ website “I am very happy to be here and I would like to thank the owners, Ian (Ayre) and of course the manager for their massive efforts to bring me here.”
