The beginning of the year is the time of celebration in the film and music industry. One of the first occasions to do so will be the Critics Choice Awards on the 12th of January which is a great predictor for the Oscar. Now we show the main favorites in order to help you to bet on the Critics’ Choice Awards 2020 winners.
The Critics Choice Awards is presented by the American-Canadian Broadcast Film Critics Association every year, just as the Oscar. We collected the odds for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress winners at the Oscar, which can be useful here as well. Especially as we find all the main favorites previously predicted in the Critics’ Choice Awards nominees, from The Irishman to Marriage Story, and from Joaquin Phoenix to Renee Zellwegger.
Pick your favorite and bet on the Critics’ Choice Awards 2020 winners
Surely you can find some of your favorites in the nominees, like Quentin Tarantino. His latest film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has received 12 nominations. Tarantino is loved by many after his cult movies, like Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill. To win the Best Director Award here would be definitely a good sign before the Oscars. But his victory is not that clear. As online sportsbooks in the US are giving the smallest odds for Bong Joon-ho’s win with Parasite. The South Korean director has already won the Palme d’Or with his family drama. But it would be a big achievement to win against Tarantino and Martin Scorsese whose odds are 4.50 and 2.00.
This year seems to be Scorsese’s returning year, with his latest masterpiece, The Irishman. The film received 14 nominations and it’s favorite in most categories. Except maybe the Best Actor one where Joker star Joaquin Phoenix has the most chance to win. His odds are 1.66 at 1xBet Sportsbook, while his biggest rival seems to be Adam Driver from Marriage Story, whose odds are 2.10.
In the Best Actress category, again we can find popular nominees, like Renee Zellweger who plays Judy Garland in the biopic about her, or Scarlett Johansson who plays Driver’s (ex)partner in the Marriage Story. Hard to choose between them, as both actresses are amazing but there is someone who can be the laughing third party. Lupita Nyong’o’s performance in the film Us is just brilliant, playing two characters at the same time in the new horror of Get out director Jordan Peele. Her odds are 6.00 to get the award.
A special award
You have a special category here as well if you want to bet on the Critics’ Choice Awards 2020 winners. Not else than the Best Acting Ensemble one, which awards the cast and crew of a film. It awards films where at least 3-4 actors/actresses are really working together, and create capturing moments in the film. The main favorite to win this category is Knives out, which is an American murder mystery with a cast full of stars. Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, just a few names to mention from them. Their odds to win are 2.00, ahead of Once Upon a Time, which has 3.74. Their crew is not bad either, with Leonardo Dicaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie in the main roles.
Of course, Tarantino’s film has been nominated in the Best Picture category as well, but only has the odds of 6.00. Online gambling sites in the US are predicting The Irishman’s win, and Parasite was also given more chance for victory. But even the bookmakers can be wrong sometimes, so just pick your favorite and make your bet after reading our latest review about 1xBet sportsbook.
