The countdown to Abu Dhabi’s biggest party weekend has begun. The Formula 1 teams will conclude their season the day-night race on the Yas Marina Circuit. This year’s run coincides with the National Day holidays, so the winner and the World Champion will be celebrated specially. The question is who will ace the final race? Here are the 2019 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix betting predictions.
The final stop of the F1 season usually has no dramatic climax and draws the year close in glitzy style. Yet the penultimate race in Brazil proved that the passions still run high among the drivers. With that weekend in mind, online sportsbook sites in the United Arab Emirates have come up with some interesting predictions.
Lewis Hamilton | 2.75 |
Max Verstappen | 5.00 |
Sebastian Vettel | 5.00 |
Valtteri Bottas | 6.00 |
Mercedes leads the 2019 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix betting predictions
With the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships already in the bag, many think that, Mercedes drivers will take their foot off the gas. Judging by the scene on Interlagos last weekend, that hypothesis is quite justifiable. It’s safe to say that Mercedes failed the race since ending the qualification streak.
Both Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton experienced problems with cars throughout the weekend. The Finish driver had to cease his run early when his engine conked out. His teammate managed to end up on the podium. However, he was later penalized for the collision with Alex Albon, which demoted him to the seventh position.
Regardless, 1xBET Sportsbook tipsters see them succeeding in Abu Dhabi next week. That might have something to do with their dominance on Yas Marina in previous years. Hamilton has conquered the track 4 times and currently holds the defending champion status. Bottas is no less remarkable, having won the race in 2017. He has been quite impressive this season and plans to beat his teammate to the 2020 F1 title. He may as well start now.
Ferrari is eyeing a redemption
The Brazilian Grand Prix has never been a mild one but the Ferrari duo took it to a new level last week. The drivers collided, taking both out of the race closer to the end of the run. Opposed to Mattia Binotto’s judgment, the incident left the team with a rather large problem on their hands.
While the boss vents on mechanical issues, the real conflict lays in the crew. Some online sportsbook news in the United Arab Emirates already foresees the combustible driver pairing failing the upcoming race. Another crash will be inevitable if the dynamics inside the team remain the same.
Charles Leclerc has established himself as a star of the team and rightly so. He has scored more podiums on his debut season than the four-time World Champion. The young Monegasque practically threatens Vettel’s seniority in the team. His German teammate, however, is too stubborn to play for the team.
Vettel hasn’t been able to get the better of the likes of himself at times as some rash decisions have cost him. Despite all the negativity, he is still among the frontrunners to win the race in Abu Dhabi with odds as close as 5.00. It’s not a surprise, considering he was the first person to conquer the Yas Marina circuit and has pulled off another two victories since then. If he breaks Mercedes’ winning streak, that will make up for his recent stint.
Verstappen is the best bet
At some point in the summer, it seemed as if Max Verstappen might emerge as a challenger for the championship. He took two wins and a second place in a run of four races from Austria to Hungary. Later, a combination of issues has struck Red Bull, setting the team back. Verstappen crashed at the start in Spa and failed in Monza. Then in Singapore Red Bull made a mistake on set-up and qualified lower than expected.
Nonetheless, the Dutchman is the most dangerous contender on the grid right now. Following his spectacular performance in Brazil, the 22-year-old driver stands the 5.00 odds to win in Abu Dhabi. He has secured three wins, five podiums and single-handedly supported Red Bulls stats.
The Austrian team continuously improved throughout the season, investing more consistency into their results. After the first half of the season, Red Bull was 0.602 seconds slower than Mercedes on average. In the second half, that margin reduced to 0.176 seconds. If anyone is able to break another Mercedes streak, that will be Verstappen.
