With the final season of Game of Thrones approaching us soon, we are all thinking about the odds of the first Stark to die in season 8. Sansa could surprise us all and survive longer. Arya’s days seem numbered and Bran has yet to display his full potential as the three-eyed raven.
Game of Thrones loves to kill our favorite characters, and as excruciating as that is for us to watch, we all secretly love it. In this article, we will take a look at the three living Starks and we will review which one is likely to perish first as the season unfolds.
Sansa Stark- No longer a damsel in distress, but in line for the throne
According to 22BET sportsbook, the odds of Sansa dying in this season are 3.00. This is not surprising. Sansa is not new to misfortune and this may be the reason that she is one of the bookies’ favorite as the first Stark to perish. However, we have witnessed the evolution of Sansa from a delicate princess to a resilient leader. According to Sophie Turner herself, in this season Sansa will wear armor for the first time.
Sansa Stark has grown a lot and is no longer as gullible as she once was. As the oldest living Stark, she has the claim to the iron throne. With all eyes on Jon and Daenerys, she has no target on her back. The lady of Winterfell she has the people of Winterfell and Brienne of Tarth behind her. They will protect her at all costs. With that said, Sansa can last a lot longer than the fans expect.
Death is creeping up on Arya like the White Walkers on Westeros
Game of Thrones has a habit of emotionally torturing its fans by killing their favorite characters. And by the looks of it, Arya could be their next target. According to online sportsbook sites in the Philippines, Arya has odds of 1.712 to be the first stark to die.
There are various ways the ferocious Stark can perish. Her past can come knocking at any moment. It’s highly unlikely that the Faceless Men let go of Arya that easily. She went against them by leaving and then stealing a face to kill Walder Frey. Another interesting theory suggests that Littefinger has hired a Faceless Man and has fled long before his last moments. If he’s alive, you better believe he’s plotting his revenge against Arya.
Given the young Stark’s combat skills, she can get killed during the battle against the White Walkers. This seems a little anti-climatic for Arya. However, Maisie Williams- the actress playing Arya, dropped a hint that in her final scene Arya ended up alone. This can mean she was left alone to die.
In addition to all that, In the latest trailer of Game of Thrones, Arya’s statue looks like her current self while Jon looks like an older version of himself. Another reason to conclude that Arya won’t survive this season. As much as we’d love to think Arya will survive the longest, the evidence suggests otherwise.
Bran Stark has lower odds of being the first Stark to die in season 8
Bran isn’t even technically Bran anymore, he’s the three-eyed raven. He has the ability of warging which means he can see the past and even manipulate it. Currently, his odds of being the first Stark to perish are 3.4 which are lower than of his siblings. Everything that Bran has gone through has prepared him for this season and for his role as the 3-eyed raven. And he has yet to display his full potential in the series.
Bran knows about Jon’s true origin. In this season, he can warg into the mind of a dragon to learn more about the army of the dead. He can furthermore, share this information with his siblings to prepare them. There are so many more angles of Bran left to explore in this season and his role is rather pivotal. This has led us to speculate that he will not be the first Stark to die.
