The app used by American Airlines pilots crashed on Tuesday, causing multiple delays.
It is a great innovation, yes. Instead of pilots having to carry a pile of papers which weigh 16kg altogether onto planes, everyone got their own iPad. With an app that they could use as “electronic flight bags.” These contain all the info that a pilot needs, a sort of manual.
According to gambling news, there was a glitch in the system, and the app malfunctioned. People were forced to wait for delayed flights (not at all like sitting in a luxury casino and sipping on our favourite drinks,) “It seemed unprecedented and very unfamiliar to the pilots,” said a passenger.
The app-crash affected more than one flight
The AA spokesperson commented on the issue: “In some cases, the flight has had to return to the gate to access a Wi-Fi connection to fix the issue.” A couple of dozen flights were affected by the problem. The electronic kit bags are, ultimately, extremely practical and environmentally friendly.
Online gambling news in US reported that with the removal of the huge stack of papers, planes can save at least 400,000 gallons a year, which amounts to USD 1.2 million. With the help of the application, the Airline company was able to get rid of a total of 24 million pages of paper.
