F1 Odds Neck And Neck Ahead Of Canadian Grand Prix

The Monaco Grand Prix lived up to its reputation providing a race that was settled in qualifying but the circus that is Formula one now heads for Canada where the F1 odds are neck and neck between Vettel and Hamilton, Ferarri and Mercedes, so this should be one hell of a race, especially with Red Bull vying to make this a three way championship and the Wall of Champions waiting to catch out the over enthusiastic. But who should you back at Unibet? We take a look.

  • Was Monaco really “The most boring race ever”?
  • Can The Canadian Grand Prix restore some F1 pride?
  • Are the F1 odds on Daniel Ricciardo winning again fair?
  • Should you bet on rain and Max Verstappen in Montreal?

We all know Monaco is a hopelessly outdated track unfit for purpose in the modern age of Formula One and if you’ve spent any time at all watching F1 odds are you spotted the manifest flaws in the supposed race around Monte Carlo. Leading the race Daniel Ricciardo found his car mechanically wanting and raced much of it 25% down on power, which should have left him dead meat but due to the defensible nature of the racing line and the tire wear at the speed he kept, no one had a chance.

F1 Odds For The Canadian Grand Prix

  • Marcus Ericsson – 4000/1
  • Charles Leclerc – 3000/1
  • Sergey Sirotkin – 2500/1
  • Lance Stroll – 2500/1
  • Brendon Hartley – 2000/1
  • Pierre Gasly – 1500/1
  • Stoffel Vandoorne – 750/1
  • Romain Grosjean – 750/1
  • Nico Hulkenberg – 750/1
  • Kevin Magnussen – 750/1
  • Carlos Sainz – 750/1
  • Sergio Perez – 500/1
  • Esteban Ocon – 500/1
  • Fernando Alonso – 250/1
  • Max Verstappen – 10/1
  • Kimi Raikkonen – 10/1
  • Daniel Ricciardo – 8/1
  • Valtteri Bottas – 8/1
  • Sebastian Vettel – 33/20
  • Lewis Hamilton – 5/4

“ It was a super unexciting race for everyone. The longest 78 laps ever.” Complained Lewis Hamilton. “We were just cruising around from lap six. Literally cruising. So it wasn’t really racing. ” A sentiment that was shared by all those who’d taken advantage of gambling laws in Monaco to grab some F1 odds. Even Fernando Alonso, who retired with gearbox issues, expressed his dismay at the parade. “Extremely boring.” He said of the 2018 Monaco Grand Prix. “This is probably the most boring race ever.”

Montreal Will Make Monte Carlo Look Like The Joke It Is?

“I don’t think we’ll be able to maintain that kind of rhythm on a track like Montreal” Admitted Ricciardo after his victory and on that point he’s absolutely correct. The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is no Monaco with plenty of great passing opportunities and walls so close they eat Formula One cars for breakfast, particularly the so called “Wall of Champions” just after the final bend which can take F1 odds and cast them to the wind in a shower of expensive car components and shattered dreams.

Given just how close those F1 odds are on Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel you have to wonder just how close together they’re going to be on that first lap, and without having to start at the back of the grid Max Verstappen will be right there with them. A bet on sports in Monaco may have been wasted on that farce of a Formula One race last week but Max will make sure that in Canada nothing can be taken for granted, especially not if it decides to rain, something Alonso would just love to happen in Montreal too.

All The F1 Odds Are Available At Unibet Right Now

Rain would allow Alonso a chance to combat those 250/1 F1 odds he’s getting on victory in Canada still way behind the fast six that dominate the sport by dint of having massively faster cars than everyone else. Kimi Raikkonen who drove a faultless parade gets 10/1 alongside the youthful Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo gets 8/1 which is the same as Valtteri Bottas (whose job he could probably have next season if he wants). Should you back any of them to win? No, probably not.

The gambling news in Monaco wasn’t even worth headlines but with Hamilton getting 5/4 (given he won here last year) and Vettel garnering 33/20 at Unibet you can barely put a gnats wing twixt their F1 odds and that wall of champions beckons the pair of them if this race turns out as competitive as the bookies seem to believe and there will be headlines galore. Formula One does itself no favors in the tax haven but Canada will see a proper race with a proper result, even if that’s just a series of accidents.
