Roy Cockrum, 58 year-old man from Knoxville, has won the greatest prize in the history of Tennessee Lottery.

The lucky man from Knoxville has gained a staggering $259.8 million on the lottery game Powerball. After paying taxes, he will be left with $115.147.525.50 which is the largest prize in the history of Tennessee lottery. Cockrum has talked to the reporters in a cheerful way after claiming his reward, according to US gambling news.

The winner has talked about his joy and how surprised he was for winning such a huge amount of money. “It’s a hard thing to process; your brain doesn’t want to believe it. I saw the Powerball match and three winning numbers and thought, ‘Wow! $500! You never win that much on Powerball.’ I felt really lucky. But then – wait a minute, wait a minute – there’s another number, and finally I realized I hit the jackpot.“

Cockrum will donate part of his newly won money to charities

Online gambling sites in US report that the new multi-millionaire will donate part of the money to charity foundations and he is also planning to support art. He also felt the need to express that the list of the foundations is already settled and he does not need more recommendations any longer.

Knoxville’s most famous person has graduated at West High School and went to Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He has been an actor and stage manager for more than 20 years until he entered The Society of Saint John the Evangelist, a religious company in Cambridge, where he became Brother Roy. He moved back to Knoxville in 2009 to help his parents.
