Nasser Al-Khelaifi will be on the hunt for next permanent PSG manager as soon as this season ends after the embarrassing exit of the Champions League last-16. How far Antonio Conte is the perfect fit for the opening position?

Online betting sites in France suggest Paris Saint-Germain are looking at the Premier League for their next boss. Five out of eleven candidates assumed to be on PSG’s short-list are currently coaching Premier’s elite clubs. Antonio Conte has been in the spotlight for several months as no. 1 candidate for next permanent PSG manager who could overturn Unai Emery’s Champions League failure yet again, despite PSG spending half a billion last summer.

According to Unibet Sportsbook Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is a firm favourite with (7.00) odds, and could be tempted into leaving the Premier League for PSG in search of trophies, but he reportedly said that he would not change Tottenham for another position in the world. Another name on target for PSG with (12.00) odds at Unibet Sportsbook is Jose Mourinho who could leave the Red Devils if they do not back him in the transfer market when the summer transfer window opens. But he has already signed a new deal to remain on Old Trafford until 2020.

The Spaniard Pep Guardiola is also on target, but he has one remaining year on his current £15 million contract with the Premier League leaders Man City. In addition to Arsene Wenger who is facing a deep crisis in his long-term career with the Gunners after failing the fans this season, but no official moves have been made by PSG until now and he sits on bottom of the odds list with (26.00).

Why Conte is no. 1 candidate for PSG?

After losing the Champions League by the Catalans, it is almost inevitable for Antonio Conte to leave Chelsea. He even repeatedly mentioned of no intention to see out the third year at Stamford Bridge. Perhaps Antonio Conte is already applying for new job positions elsewhere and PSG could be one of his considered destinations.

Conte has a good reputation leading Chelsea to the Premier League title in his first season in England, and winning three times the Serie A title with Juventus. But in the Champions League Conte could not go further than the quarter-finals with Juventus, which might be discouraging for PSG administration. Although his odds are (2.00) at Unibet Sportsbook, it remains to be seen if he will be the next permanent PSG manager.
