• Liverpool will play against Besiktas at Anfield
• Moenchengladbach will go head to head with Sevilla away
• Tottenham and Fiorentina will play each other at White Hart Lane
According to EU gambling news, Liverpool will play at home against Besiktas, while another English side Tottenham will go head to head with Italian club Fiorentina at White Hart Lane. Moenchengladbach have reached this far in the competition, however now they will face a stern tests against the current Europa League defending champions Sevilla away. And lastly, Villarreal is gearing up to play Salzburg at home, which should see the former seal a victory.
Liverpool vs Besiktas and Sevilla vs Moenchengladbach
Liverpool have lost their magical touch since Luis Suarez left for Barcelona. They managed to finally qualify for the Champions League but couldn’t keep their place in a group that featured Real Madrid. They finished third with only 5 points and have recorded 1 win, 2 draws and 3 losses in the process. Now in the Europa League they will go up against Turkish side Besiktas and judging by the recent results, Brendan Rodgers’ may endure a difficult time.
The Turks have put on some impressive performances as they won 2 games and tied only 1 at home while away from their ground they notched 1 win and 2 draws. These results gave them 12 points which propelled them to the top of Group B. However, Bet365 has put almost all of their faith in the Reds 1.53 (6/11) while Besiktas have been dealt outsider odds 6.50 (11/2). A draw may also be on the cards 4.00 (3/1) judging by the propensity of draws.
Sevilla were quite outstanding in the competition last season and they deservedly won the tournament following a great final where they defeated Benfica 4-2 on penalties. This season they found themselves struggling a bit while playing on the road where they recorded 2 draws and 1 loss, while at home they managed to win all 3 games. Considerign that at home they were far better so far, they should able to pull off a win against Moenchengladbach.
The German side have been pretty good this season both domestically and in Europe where they clinched 12 points in the second most popular football competition on the continent. Overall they recorded 3 wins and 3 draws which saw them finish 1st in Group A, however it may not be enough to beat the current defending champions. Online sportsbooks in EU believe that Sevilla will win 1.85 (6/7) this encounter, while the Germans have been assigned unlikely odds 4.33 (10/3).
Tottenham vs Fiorentina and Villarreal vs Salzburg
The Spurs boast some of the most impressive young talents in European football, however they haven’t been able to effectively utilize them. One stand-out player this season has been Harry Kane, who has delighted fans with his great performances and scoring ability. They have finished second in their group with 11 points (3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss overall) and will next face Fiorentina in the 1/32 finals of Europa League.
The Italian club have finished Group K with a total of 13 points with a record standing at 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, which is pretty good however many believe that they could have done seen better. Their strength lies in playing away which has seen them win all 3 encounters, although Bet365 has given them unlikely chances of 3.50 (5/2), while a draw has been set at 3.40 (12/5). A win for Tottenham stands at 2.15 (8/7), an event that is quite possible.
Villarreal are looking to get back into the big game and replicate their performances which saw them reach the latter stages of the then known UEFA Cup (now Europa League) several times a decade ago. This season they have been pitted in the same group as Moenchengladbach and still were successful in finishing second with 11 points.
Salzburg on the other hand finished their respective group with 16 points, which means that they won almost all of their encounters. They accumulated 5 wins and only 1 draw and saw them achieve goal difference of 13. Despite the fact that they’ve been impressive this season, mobile betting sites don’t have high hopes for them. Bet365 has given the Austrian side odds of 5.50 (9/2), while the Spanish team have been dealt preferential chances 1.57 (4/7).
