Amaya Gaming Appoints New Board of Directors Advisor

Amaya Gaming appoints Chris Lewis, former Commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police, as advisor to its board of directors to ensure security and stability.
Chris Lewis, former Commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police, has been appointed by Amaya Gaming, as its board of directors’ advisor. Lewis will be expected to offer advice to the gaming company’s board about matters of security and stability. With proven experience and knowledge about security processes as well as integrity, Lewis’s expertise will prove useful and effective for Amaya.
David Baazov, Amaya chairman and chief executive officer said “As a company operating in a heavily regulated industry, Mr. Lewis’s experience will ensure we continue to lead the way in security processes and procedures as well as integrity, which are of crucial importance to our customer, as well as governments and industry partners.” Lewis’s will definitely be able to help the company move forward in a direction that’s within Canadian gambling laws.
Amaya appoints new vice-president
Amaya gaming as also appointed George Sweny as the new vice-president of strategic venture in an effort to broaden its senior management. Sweny is also a member of the board of directors of the Responsible Gambling Council of Canada. This additional position will help Amaya maintain its commitment to encourage responsible gambling.
Baazov also said “Mr. Sweny has extensive gaming industry experience in both the public and private sector and will ensure we maintain the highest standards in reasonable gaming.”
The move to increase their senior management and advisory teams is a wise move considering the direction Amaya may go in the future. A major headline throughout Canada gambling news as well as throughout North America, was the $4.9 billion dollar deal that made PokerStars a part of Amaya. As the World’s largest online poker company, Amaya has the responsibility to not only continue leading the industry, but represent it as a flagship for integrity and responsibility.
