New Delhi Police Arrests 18 People Involved in Gambling at a Hotel

A total of 18 people arrested by the local authorities for being involved in illegal gambling at a 5-star hotel in New Delhi.
Police from the Parliament Street station were to the prestigious Le Meridien following reports that gambling actions were being carried out in one of the rooms of the hotel. The people arrested also involved a property dealer and a diary owner.
Reports say that the property dealer and the dairy owner rented the rooms on Sunday afternoon. In the following evening, many of their accomplices joined them where they create a setting that resembled an Indian poker room.
They claimed to have gambled from the hotel as it provided them with more protection from being caught by the authorities. It served as a hideout which made them less detectable by the New Delhi police.
The police were highly effective in their pursuits
More than Rs.2.16 lakh were found and seized from the hotel room where the gamblers made and took bets. Additional Commissioner of Police New Delhi, S.B.S. Tyagi, explained how the professional procedure was carried out in the hotel, according to gambling news.
“Keeping up the ante and acting against illegal activities, the staff of the Parliament Street police station acted upon credible information and raided two adjacent suites (No. 620 and 622). Eighteen gamblers who had gathered in the hotel from different parts of the trans-Yamuna area for the purpose of large-scale gambling were apprehended from the suites.”
