The 2014 NFC North division looks like it might be an exact re-run of the 2013 season.
The NFC North division including the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears has long been called the “black and blue” division, the group most likely to end games with both teams scoring in the single-digits.
Those days are long gone. It’s now a high-scoring, quarterback-driven league featuring high-octane offenses by stars like Aaron Rodgers, Jay Cutler and Matthew Stafford. And in the upcoming 2014 season it is expected to be arguably the deepest group in the NFL.
What oddsmakers are saying about the NFC North
Online sportsbooks in the US, Britain and Canada are predicting a rematch of last season when the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bear dueled for a spot in the playoffs, with the Packers winning out. This time around expect the Packers to win the division again but the Bears to earn a Wild Card spot.
Bet365 has the Packers leading with 8/11 odds to win the division followed by the Bears at 3/1, the Lions at 16/5 and the Vikings rounding things out at 18/1.
We think that there are a number of weak lines here. At 3/1 odds the Bears are a perfect upset team to bet on. The Lions also look overvalued at 16/5. Whoever you bet, the NFC North look to be a treat for online and mobile betting fans.
