Poker in Lithuania
Because gambling in Lithuania has only been legal for less than 8 years, and because the first casino didn't open until 2002, Lithanuans have not had that much exposure to poker. There are only 12 casinos in all of Lithuania, and while most offer poker, they usually just have one or two tables. Lithuania has not been very active in the international poker tournament circuit either. Lithuania's largest poker tournament is the Lithuanian Open Summer Festival which happens in the Olympic Casino of Reval Hotel Lietuva.

The most famous poker star to come out of Lithuania is Antanas Guoga, who is better known as Tony G. He has played in several major tournaments, including the WSOP and WPT. Tony G. won the EPT in 2005, and has collected over 3 million dollars in tournament winnings during his career.

Online poker in Lithuania has not developed much either. While a few Lithuanian casinos and poker rooms have websites, these are just informative, telling of upcoming tournaments and other news – they do not offer online games. This is surprising since there is no regulation in Lithuania that controls online gambling.

Lithuanians who want to play online poker use large international online poker sites hosted in different parts of the world. While many accept players from Lithuania, there are very few that offer their services in the local language.
