The game of poker, while extremely popular in some parts of the world, is only just now starting to become well-known across Ecuador. One major event happened last year, however, which put Ecuador on the map as far as the poker world is concerned - PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour. It stopped in Ecuador in 2008.
