Poker in Croatia
Poker tables can be found around Croatia, but because the law only allows them inside casinos, they are limited in number. Most Croatian poker rooms are located in large, Western-style hotel casinos, especially in central Zagreb and around the seaside resort areas. These large casinos often hold poker tournaments, like the annual Croatia Spring Poker Champoinship at the Poker Club casino in Zagreb, with its €100,000 prize pool.

In general, the attitude towards poker in Croatia is that it is more a sport than gambling, since it requires so much skill to play well (though the Croatian government certainly thinks of it as gambling). The First Croatian Poker Club approaches the game in this way. The club has around 700 members, and they organize regular tournaments around the country. There are certainly some good poker players coming out of Croatia, like Branimir Bronovic, who won the 2007 PartyPoker European Challenge.

Online Poker in Croatia
The online poker scene in Croatia is mostly tied to the offline poker scene. The First Croatian Poker Club runs a website, though it does not offer Croatian internet poker. Instead, the club has teamed up with TitanPoker. This international poker room runs qualifier events for poker tournaments around Croatia.

More casual players looking to play online poker will have to find an international site that has a Croatian version of their poker site. There are several of these available. Alternatively, players can choose to use other international online poker sites that accept players from Croatia, as long as they are comfortable playing games in another language.
