Poker in China
Poker is not very popular in China. In fact, it was virtually non-existent there until very recently. One of the first major exposures China had to the game was in 2005 when ESPN started broadcasting in China, and coverage of major events like the WSOP were available.

Even major casinos in Macau didn't have poker tables until last year. Because of a special exception made by the Chinese government, the Asian Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) was allowed to hold events in China. It was used in Macau as a way to test the waters, and to see how the game would be received by a Chinese audience. The test went very well, and now many casinos in Macau are starting to bring in poker tables.

Online Poker in China
Because of the general lack of interest in the game, Chinese poker online is limited. Finding a dedicated Chinese poker hall could be very difficult. This will probably change during the next few years, though, as poker becomes more popular among the Chinese.

More importantly, it is illegal to run online poker sites in China. Chinese players who want to play online poker have to use sites that are operated from other countries. This is not a problem because there are many online poker sites that accept Chinese players.
