Webchat Soon to Offer Help to Players with gambling Problems

Unlike before where people experiencing gambling problems had to go to physical location or call someone to help them, soon a webchat service will be available.

Gambling news reports that problem gamblers will soon be able visit an online counselling service to help them with their difficulties facing gaming. Gambling authorities and many government officials are currently testing the new system that deals with solving gaming problems that at times befalls players.

Clients facing certain difficulties and challenges will be able to visit the website Nams.sg where they will talk to paracounsellors that can provide support and lend an ear to the clients. The counsellors will not be certified, but will nevertheless attempt to solve any problems that the players may be occupied with.

Webchat was initiated by two organizations

Experts believe that gamblers that prefer to use mobile betting sites could highly benefit from this, as it will make the service more accessible to them considering their online gaming preferences. The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and National Addictions Management Service (NAMS) have worked in tandem to initiate the webchat service.

An NCPG spokesperson stated that the service is being developed to “expand the accessibility and availability of help services for problem gambling.” He also added that the last phase is underway to see the effectiveness of the service. “Final phase of pilot testing to determine the feasibility and public demand.”
