Ireland will be looking to get back into form and record a win against the American who have been underperforming in their recent matches.

Following the action that saw international games take place, football continues with some exciting friendly encounters between promising sides. Ireland, who will be playing the Americans in a friendly, recently took on Scotland where in Group D of the qualifying round for EURO 2016 in France, gambling news reports. Unfortunately for them they lost their first game in the group which has seen Scotland overtake them by commanding the 3rd place.

Now Martin O’Neill’s men will have a point to prove to everyone, as the defeat puts them in fourth place, above Georgia and Gibraltar. The match against the USA will provide a great opportunity for them to showcase their talents and potentially move up the EURO rankings, as they currently inhabit the 40th spot on the chart.

Both Ireland and USA suffered recent defeats

• The Irish are favorites against USA

• USA recently lost 2-1 against Colombia

• Ireland sits fourth in Group D for EURO 2016

The USA, just like Ireland, also suffered a defeat the same night that Scotland sealed a 1-0 win over the Boys in Green. Jurgen Klinsmann’s men played Colombia on Friday evening in London and couldn’t manage to keep their fragile 1-0 lead that came by way of a penalty from Josmer “Jozy” Altidore in the 10th minute. In the 60th minute Bacca scored an equalizer and 27 minutes later, Gutierrez added another for the South American side sealing a victory.

Now as the USA prepare to Ireland away, numerous sports experts have shown little faith in the Americans considering their recent performance against Colombia. More important is the fact that they haven’t managed to replicate the fine form that has seen them achieve decent success in last summer’s World Cup. This would have given the all-necessary confidence to go out and try to put on their best possible showing of talent.

Online sportsbooks in Ireland have outlined the hosts to seal win against the weaker opposition. Unibet has assigned odds of 2.28 (32/25) for Ireland to win, while USA has been given 3.15 (43/20), as they are not considered to have the necessary ability to notch a win against a team that will be playing on home soil. A draw between the two does not seem likely 3.20 (11/5), as the hosts will be fully ready to prove what they can do on a big occasion.

Ireland still have plenty of chances to improve their standing in Group D

Although Ireland have been somewhat disappointed with their showcase against Scotland, manager O’Neill remains confident his team can overcome that defeat and pull off a win against the USA. He is adamant that his boys will prove themselves when the time comes and will manage to get back into qualifying contention for the finals of EURO 2016.

Additionally, taking into account that the next four out of five qualifying games will be played on home soil, the former Celtic boss is convinced they can put on some impressive performances and score the vital three points in each of those upcoming encounters. The home fans are all looking forward to supporting their national side which has experienced a somewhat unconvincing start to the qualifiers.

They have initially won a rather shaky away win against Georgia, while then they managed to thrash Gibraltar a massive 7-0. Later on the Boys in Green overcame all odds and secured an all-important draw against Germany, which granted them 1 point for their efforts. And then recently, they lost against Scotland 1-0 on Friday night. Nevertheless, the spirit is present within the team that many believe can challenge for the top two spots of their group.

With some recent amendments made to Irish gambling laws, punters will be looking to make a solid buck on the national side’s last match in 2014. It has been reported that a number of young and hungry footballers will be aiming to make the best of their chances, which all works in a favor of Ireland winning. Considering all the relevant aspects listed previously, this match should serve as a more intense training session for the Irish.
