The Nevada Gaming Commission just issued its first licenses for providing software to
online casinos in United States. The International Game Technology and Bally Technologies are the lucky companies with the licenses issued.
Before gaming software can be sold, these providers will need to get approval by a state testing lab approved by the State of Nevada. In addition, the casinos need their own licenses for running remote wagering. Currently, two dozen casinos are seeking licenses in the state and this will certainly bring business to the casino game makers.
The gambling industry experts estimate that online gambling revenues in America, including
online poker sites in United States may reach nearly $15 billion annually within the next several years. Some of the revenues will come at the expense of offshore online casinos currently offering access to American residents.
The rest will come from land-based casino revenues. Indeed, the liberalization of online gambling under the
American gambling laws is worrying the casino establishment in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and at numerous Native American-run casino resorts.
The Internet and
mobile casinos have been popular and legal in many countries for years. The online gambling market exceeds $30 billion annually and is expected to grow. When it comes to sports betting, the Internet wagers on sports even exceed those of casino gambling sites. But, there is room to grow, especially in the Land of the Free.
